Can you believe that statement? I always wondered how many songs were written by Bryan as a result of her. We saw it coming when Mick married JH, that he'd get caught doing whoever he could do resulting in Jerry ditching Jagger. No sympathy for that devil.

Indeed, Bryan triggered me to sing and as you know, I lost Gloria who inspired me to write, and thanks to Bryan, the two mixed with the music I created.

It would be interesting to know what songs he wrote about Jerry. But I s'pose he's the only one that would know.

I always guessed that cry cry cry was about jerry (not the most popular roxy song, but I always quite liked it):

You ready for hot stuff? Be prepared
I'm sick of your cheap, cheap hustle
Oh, don't cha dare

I thought the hot stuff reference ( a play on the stones song etc) was to mick.

Anyway, I'm rooting for jerry on strictly :D

Going back to Erland's query about Jerry-inspired songs, and rather like Roxy Siren's earlier "Hot Stuff" Stones link, I always felt the lines in My Only Love:

Does it seem so funny
For a fool to cry?

Was a direct dig by Ferry about Jagger laughing at him for taking Jerry away, quoting the Stones song Fool to Cry.

When She Walks in the Room (one of Bryan's best heart-rending songs) is definitely about Jerry. I think the line "..'til her laughter has drifted away.." may also be linked to Nabokov's story Lolita, which describes the haunting/hypnotising effect of her laughter.

rendezvous, interesting theory! wow! the only person to solve that riddle would be Bryan, but we can assume you are probably quite right! awesome insight!
