Here's an award from my collection that I'm selling at the moment.

It's an Official RIAA Gold Award Presented to Bryan Ferry for 500,000 sales of 'Honeymoon In Vegas' Official Soundtrack.

The award has been autographed on the reverse by Bryan Ferry in black pen. It's a large signature.

Open to serious offers on this.

For more info, pics and to make an offer please email me on

So why is this a "Private Listing"? What is so "secret" about this item? Just wondering. I have bought a multitude of items over eBay in the past ten years and never understood what the point of a "Private Listing" is, especially for items with low starting prices (like 20 pounds).

I'm just wondering...

Earlier today the listing has several bids and I think it was up to £77.00 but now it says "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available."
Strange.

Roxy:
Something strange is going on here it appears. The auction listing did not indicate that there was a hidden reserve so, if this were a regular eBay auction then, the seller would have been contractually obligated to complete the auction once the first bid of 20 pounds was placed. Perhaps the fact that it was a "private listing" gave the seller the right to shut down the auction and ignore all the bids made. If so, this is just further confirmation that "private listing" auctions on eBay are less than transparent.

Or perhaps some question was raised as to whether the seller had come into possession of the item by legitimate means. Hard to say...

Is it me, or is this actually not very nice? If indeed it was awarded to BF, it doesn't surprise me that he got rid of it. Would rather spoil the run of more conventional silver, gold and platinum (& multi-platinum) discs adorning the walls. :-)

You may have something there DCJ. I suspected that the price was not heading to what might have been expected so they just ended the auction. The listing gave a lot of details about the Movie but nothing about the history of the item and how the seller came to own it. It always helps to know what you are buying and the story behind it, especially when it was listed as being given to Bryan Ferry. I am not suggesting anything underhand as often stars will give these items away to raise funds for charity but it helps to know the story behind it. Perhaps if it has been an actual BF or RM gold disc it would have attracted higher bids.
