thanks for the compliment rendezvous! that night, my model friend (we had dated), was standing alone before the show as I went to the loo, and upon my return, she was holding 2 passes for the after-show party. I'm sure she was asked because she was so stunningly beautiful. We were both dressed in such a Roxyish (my new word!) style that we attracted quite alot of attention. During the show, we got up and danced in the aisle (everyone else were sitting). I noticed Bryan look over and I'm sure he still remembers it. After the show, he came out with David Enthoven (his manager at the time). From a distance, I shouted: "Bryan, you want a beer?!" He held up a Heineken and said: "I've got one thanks", looked intently at Michelle and gradually made his way over. You know the rest, and I'm the one who invited her to the show! So if I meet Bryan again, I'll surely remind him. All was not lost, as David Williams and I partied at an after-hours bar, and boy! does he like to party!

Erland, I hope that Bryan made sure that Michelle and you were not an item before he made his move. Failure to do so would earn a bloody nose where I come from - and where Bryan comes from too.

Good point Avondale, I don't exactly recall, but I'm sure Bryan asked her when I was talking to David or getting a beer. He was smooth about it because Michelle didn't tell me until the next day, before she went out with Bryan. I was little pissed indeed. Maybe it was cathartic for him because of Mick taking Jerry away from him. Hear that Bryan? JUST FOUND OUT MICHELE HAS PASSED AWAY IN 2009! OH DEAR. REST IN PEACE MICHELE.I just found her site today: http://michelecadieux.com/

That's sad news Erland, she was obviously a very striking and well-loved woman, with that look I could see her on the cover of Stranded. I'm sorry you've lost a friend. What with Windswept2's news about our late DJ friend John, sharing memories of those times and people is both heartening and sad. We are all mayflies.

thanks rendezvous,
I'm stunned, absolutely shocked! I had no idea she had that illness.
I hadn't seen Michele in years. Last time I saw her was for dinner in the 90s. She cooked up a great chicken dinner.
When we dated, would you believe? I broke it off? Why? She didn't like going into the outdoors, canoeing, etc.
But we remained friends, and I will miss her.

To be remembered at all is nice; to be remembered with passion is more than most of us will achieve... Definitely Roxy cover girl material, on the evidence of the portfolio she left behind. And, at the risk of sounding shallow (guilty as charged, Your Honour!), some legs are well worth chancing a bloody nose for, Avondale!

kind words Smudge, I will relay that to her ex who I emailed to offer my condolences. Indeed, she was definitely Roxy cover material. I could tell right away Bryan was interested in meeting her. Before he came over to us, he kept glancing steely. Imagine me plopping Bryan in the nose!

Erland, I have been out of circulation for the past few days and have just picked up on the sad news about your friend. Can I just echo the sentiments expressed by others above. Sadly, I guess many of us have reached the stage in life where seriously bad stuff is going to happen to us and our friends and loved ones. To quote the Likely Lads, "In the chocolate box of life the top layer's already gone and someone's pinched the orange creme from the bottom......bloody hell!"
On a slightly more flippant note, and having taken a quick browse through Michele's bio, I think you need to assess where you set the bar with the fairer sex. To dump a beautiful, elegant, intelligent, committed and accomplished woman because she didn't like to freeze her butt off in the wilds seems a tad harsh. That said, if only I had a pound for every woman that I have dumped for her inability to canoe........doh !!
As for plopping Bryan on the nose, we all know the code of conduct when it comes to another man's lady and what to expect if we flaunt that code - music icon or not.

Thanks Avondale for writing about Michele. Interesting quote you wrote! Yes indeed, she didn't like the wilds of nature, and it was important to me. Seems harsh, but still, it was amicable. We remained friends until I lost touch with her. She was a dream to be with for sure, and I never had trouble dating beautiful women. Gloria was even more beautiful, if you can imagine that. <sigh> At the time, Michele would wait for me until I finished work! A true lady with incredible style and very, very intelligent. She was a psychologist that worked with prisoners. Thanks for checking her site. Her ex made the site for her and he says thank you for checking her site! So thanks to all! If some of you haven't seen this lovely lady, she would have indeed made a great Roxy cover-girl! http://michelecadieux.com/BTW - I turned her on to Bryan & Roxy's Music. At the time, I gave her a cassette of Taxi which she enjoyed. And if I ever do see Bryan again, I wouldn't be afraid to let him know how I felt at the time, and I couldn't plop my inspiration on the nose, maybe an elbow to get his attention.
