I've wondered that too. It has an All I want is You feel. Was it leftover from the Country Life sessions, did he save it deliberately for his solo work, and why did he stick it on an album of covers ? He could have saved it for Siren. If anyone knows, please share !

Years before the advent of the internet, and music forums, I have mantained the title track is Roxy Music through and through. You could pick your least liked track from Country Life, discard and replace with this, and get away with it all day long. Interesting question though, why it was chose, by Ferry, as a Ferry track, and not Roxy?

Fellow Historians,
This album together with TFT played a huge role in my musical development.
As a child of the '50s and a teenager of the '60s I had a wonderful time but I have to admit it was a black and white world. You were either a Mod or a Rocker and until the era of flower power, the twain never met.
This had consequences, as a would be hipster that loved Mod clothes, soul music, Elvis and Triumph motor bikes I lived a confused existence and often had to hide.
I had to keep my love of Elvis quiet and even kept a Lambretta at hand for girls that wouldn't get on the bike.
Anyway TFT and particularly ATAP opened my horizons and showed me that it was fine to like all types of music and reassured me that I wasn't such a strange bird after all. Furthermore, by '69 I had a car and my transport problems were fixed!
Happily, Ferry has continued to educate me over the years and our eclectic tastes have run in tandem.
Regards,
Windswept.
