Then why did he say the opposite now ? Has his memory gone ? I remember that interview in 1980 and what he said,so I was a bit disappointed to find him now saying that it was only included because of a lack of finished material. My own personal opinion at the time was that they were trying to crack the American market by sticking two big songs by two big American artists in the hope of getting more airplay. Which is OK by me. You want your product to sell ! The unreleased songs on the bootleg CD didn't have any lyrics either,so maybe the writers block had set in then !!!

Agreed that it wasn't very inspired interview from JW, though I thought BF did his best to make it interesting given the rather predictable questions. Also as this was on R2 I guess it was aimed at the more casual listener than the likes of us.

I found the interview today with Cerys on 6Music far more interesting (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01pgs0z). They had some great excerpts from (and chat about) Roxy's first Peel Session, and also discussed the lyrics BF's most proud of writing, as well as some interesting jazz stuff.
