Thanks for the info, Pianoman, but I'm stubbornly refusing to register at an online shop where they force me to install their stupid software before they sell me anything As soon as it's for sale in shops other than iTunes I'll be happy to buy it.

A mini review: ( The lead single from Avonmore, due November 17, 2014, “Loop De Li” combines the heartbreak of “Kiss and Tell” and the romantic ecstasy of “More Than This” for a new generation. 2012’s The Jazz Age, Ferry’s lowest-charting solo effort to date.) http://somethingelsereviews.com/2014/09 ... more-2014/

Have to wait until tomorrow @ Roxy: I think he has re-recorded Loop De Li and changed some verses, as you remarked. Maybe the other Horoscope songs (Midnight Train, Send In The Clowns), too? Pianoman, I can't really tell from the short clips on Amazon. It was only from listening to the full track of Loop De Li several times that I thought I could detect the slight differences.

Bryanferry.com update:
From the Chicago show comments:
"Amazing evening with Mr. Ferry and a razor sharp band! Particularly touched by In Every Dream Home A Heartache and the Johnny and Mary (Robert Palmer) encore. Completely thrilling for a thirty year fan!"

Now the penny has finally dropped. After whinging about iTunes last night I remembered that indeed my love for Amazon is not much bigger (they don't pay taxes - at least not in Germany - and they have a reputation of treating their emplyees badly). So I cancelled my Amazon order and ordered directly at bryanferry.com instead, and, bingo, that's where you get the free (and legal) download of Loop de Li.
(P.S.: I still find it weird that there's no option to buy Loop de Li from Amazon, though. I think this is a marketing strategy that might backfire.)

Btw at 320kbps his voice sounds much smokier than in the youtube version, I don't think it's an old recording from the 90s. Maybe from around 2007?

If indeed this is what his vocals could sound like circa 2007 then I don't see why he wasn't able to finish the Roxy Album in 2006!

I'm only just guessing.... But the song is growing on me, the more I listen to it, the more nuances I discover.

While 'Loop De Li' is my endless loop at the moment I'm puzzling over the sax sound ... Is it Andy? Not very likely. Or has Bryan himself played the syn sax as on 'Mamouna' (the song)? I always supposed he must have sampled AM's sax sound for the title track. Anyway, I think 'Loop De Li' is a very good song with a catchy refrain, Roxy sax feeling and moreover a fantastic single record in terms of Bryan's choices in the past, for instance 'The Right Stuff' or 'You Can Dance'.
