The photograph in the Belfast Telegraph review dates back to the Titanic event from 2012!

Glad to read all these positive reports about the Belfast show. Very good set list. Btw, thanks to J. O'B. and Roxy. Hope to see Bryan Ferry in a good shape in Germany in September. Wish the Stuttgart show could be tomorrow ;) .

I've posted this in 'the Opening show ' as well. Just to add that you are all in for a real treat this tour!

Review from 'Irish News' 7/5/2015 Page 2
Oozing class and confidence, Ferry proves he can still get us in the groove

Was there ever a more modern band than Roxy Music? Onto a hirsute, denim-clad early seventies music scene they burst like some alien entity, led by a singer who crooned like some space-age Ivor Novello over a musical mash-up of Hollywood kitsch and European avant garde.
Quickly it became clear that Bryan Ferry would be able to sustain a parrallel solo career, and he and indeed Roxy neatly sidestepped punk to reinvent themselves with the textured, classy sound that electrified the Waterfront last night.
It was a return visit for Ferry, and not before time as middle-aged ravers got into the groove.
Last night's openers such as Driving Me Wild showed his class before a sharp left turn into Ladytron demonstrated what a weird package early Roxy were.
Sober suited rather than glammed up, Ferry, the music fan with these days a rather lived-in voice, delivered a beautiful version of Dylan's Don't Think Twice,It's Alright, proving himself a better harmonica player than the nasal one, and who remembers that Smoke Gets in your Eyes was one of Ferry's biggest hits? He certainly does.
Warmed up now, he was confident enough to visit lesser known albums like Manifesto, where self-proclaimed non-musician Ferry directed things from behind a very small piano.
Ferry remains an expert in fusing the neo-classical with modern dance rhythms, gypsy violin with bossa nova, classical guitar with a slow samba, at one stage leaving the stage to let the band do the work, returning to pick up the pace with Take A Chance With Me and My Only Love with some of that old Roxy swagger.
New material inevitably recalled old material, with Avalon very much the musical touchstone.
But the clipped intro to Love is the Drug banished, as it always does, all longuers and the whole hall boogied.
In terms of music and in terms of cool, the guy's still got it.

Nice reading, Manifesto! All these positive reports plus seeing the exciting set list have washed my previous doubts away. And many people seems to love VP, so let them have it. I am pleased that BF kept Stronger through the years and Take a chance with me in the set list.
Are there any dancers?

Reading all these positive reviews is great. I am so gutted that I won't be getting to see this tour, I have been to every tour since FYP in 1973. But now I have moved to South Africa and cannot afford more than one trip a year back to Europe, and I am back between the UK and European tour. Never mind. I will follow the comments and reviews on this wonderful site.
I hope all the members attending these concerts will enjoy them as much as I know I would have.
I still sit here amazed that Roxy/Bryan can still generate a special feeling for me after 42 years.
Have fun.

Michael

Beautiful lighting- great depth and texture of sound. The axis between the 2 guitarists and bass player is excellent. Jorga was brilliant as usual.I had the luck to bump into Bobbi after the show and tell her how brilliant it was.

Ever Discerning Hipsters,
Manifesto's writings, the great reviews, a good set list allied with the return of two of the Praetorian Guard have Windswept in a state of extreme excitement — his tailor is now under extreme pressure to have his suit ready for Brighton (if ticketmaster ever get around to printing the tickets).
It's also great to see Manifesto's generosity in spreading the religion.
W2 finds it difficult to understand how people can exist in a Ferryless world but they do and it has to be our mission to ease their pain.
To this end Windswept once took a whole gaggle of Philistines to the Dylanesque gig in Paris.
They all came away completely intoxicated and faced with the daunting task of buying the whole back catalogue!
Roxy Lite is getting heavier by the minute.
Salutations,
Windswept.

Yes, great news.... and the Great Man surprising us again
with the set list. Let's hope he keeps well and in good swing!

... and "Beauty Queen"?.. a dream come true, and Bryan
is forgiven for skipping the vocals at the end..... :-)

Roll on Hamburg!

I am going to buck the trend here and voice my disappointment at the set list. A lot pulled from what my least favourite of his work. I love Beauty Queen but it should have been performed during Roxy's 2011 FYP tour. Major clue in the title. I cannot fathom why he continually ignores big hits like This is Tomorrow and The Price Of Love. His first 4 solo albums are by far his best and very few of the songs see a live performance. In Your Mind is another example as is Another Time Another Place. Great tracks far better than anything he has done post Boys And Girls. And how about All I Want isYou for a change My Only Love has been done to death as has Avalon. Apologies for bucking the trend but just my opinion.

Hipsters,

Were any of our roving reporters present at Cambridge?

Were there any changes to the set list?

Did the tour book arrive and what is it like?

Is there any sartorial developments?

Windswept is thirsty for information!

Salutations,

W2
