But the whole thing certainly has nothing to do with the 12 tracks that Phil Manzanera spoke about ... so I hope there will be something else ...

I wish I could think of something positive to say about this but I'm really struggling. I suppose it's good that he continues to want to work and record but, assuming you already know the song, you know in advance exactly how his interpretation is going to sound and - yes, that's exactly how it does sound. Hardly radical.
So this is a digital EP? No suggestion hinted at anywhere of a physical release in any form on CD or vinyl.
I really hoped a new original song might herald his return but I fear that it does seem the songwriting well may finally have run dry.
Better than nothing. But only just.

I really like it - a nice laid back cover.
We know by this stage what we’re getting with Bryan and I’m just so pleased that at 76 he’s still making music.
I would have preferred a full album with physical releases though.

Mes Amis, W2 is so relieved that our hero is back and to have new music has him shivering his timbers. He loves ‘Love Letters’ but the two he is most looking forward to are ‘I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself’ and ‘The Very Thought Of You’. Bravo Bonny Lad ! Salutations a tous, Windswept.

The only disheartening thing about this is that the press release describes him as the former singer of Roxy Music.
Not just the singer either, but maybe those are their words and not his.

Well what are the options: 1 Their words not his? 2 BF confirming the end of Roxy Music? Answers on a postcard please

I'm honestly not satisfied.
The great hero has written epochal music history and now (perhaps as the final finish) softened cover versions ...
That can't and hopefully won't be all that Bryan presents to us this year, right?
