Star - is this a Ferry original , I wonder?

Oh, I forgot that one, avalon eyes. As I don't believe it's a Stones cover - could it be the Stealers Wheel song (from 1975 or so)?

I think we can safely rule out a Kiki Dee cover! :D

BTW, UKRichard, wasn't Doreen Chanter aka Kiki Dee a stage and studio background singer for Bryan (In Your Mind ??). So why not :D ? (In fact I don't know the song ;) )

Nice to see "As the World Turns" finally released as a digital download on the recent release of the "This is Tomorrow" single.

Doreen Chanter and Kiki Dee are not one and the same person* (assuming that "aka" is used here to mean "also known as"), although Doreen did write Kiki's hit Star.

(*An online search of their images should reveal that they don't look remotely alike.)

No, Smudge, you're right, they aren't. Somehow I always had this false assumption ... but if Doreen wrote "Star" at least they've known each other ;) .

Kiki’s ‘I’ve got the music in me’ is an absolute blast - I didn’t realise how much I liked it until a few years ago when I played it at a party … it brought everyone on the the dance floor …. Some people hearing it for the first time since it was released - Now it’s in my Desert island discs :-)

Everybody is linked somehow; it's just a question of how many "degrees of separation"! ;)

And now "She's Leaving Home" released on the "Tokyo Joe" single today. Fabulous to have these available.

She’s leaving home is pure class , superb vocal from that period Ferry , and great Lennonesque tone for the parents’ lines in the song .

Alas , As the world turns , (was it written for a French Tv soap opera?) sounds like a theatrical pastiche . excellent piano on it from Jobson.
