Eh? A cheaper hotel maybe?

See what you mean, SB; just checked on-line and even budget options like Travelodge are about £80 per night. :(

The Ibis in Euston is £92, but the one in Earl's Court (near West Brompton tube, so not too far from the Empire) is £72 (details at www.ibishotel.com), if that beats your current deal.

Smudge, maybe the protesters will still be outside St. Paul's come the time. I could get a quilt off our webmaster and fling up a tent in amongst that lot, not that I would protest, at anything, of course. I've actually come across some guest houses in the area which seem more than reasonable. For all the time I will be be in my accommodation anyway. 8-)

He did record You go to my Head again during the As Time Goes By sessions.Different from his original recording. With any luck,he may release that one day.

Dear Ian,
I'd love to hear this - do you know if there are any other morsels from the "ATGB" sessions that remain unreleased?
That album really is a master class in musicianship.
Regards,
Windswept

A promo cd was released in 1999 which contained all of ATGB plus a different version of You go to my head ,If I didn't Care and I can't get started with you. Although If I didn't care showed up on the ATGB single. I did see one of these promos go on Ebay a few years back for around £50. So keep hunting and it may show up again !

I don't reckon some songs sound too great live.He did Sensation at Live Aid and it didn't come off. Cruel,San Simeon,This Island Earth and The Chosen One are others that don't sound too good live in my opinion. But I would take them if it meant not hearing Slave ,My Only ,Heart Still Beating, Jealous Guy .Love is The Drug and any others that have been played to death !

Personally, I love the live version of The Chosen One, as it was played during the Bête Noire tour. Also, I agree that Sensation didn't sound great at Live Aid, but I think that had more to do with sound problems than with the fact that the song cannot sound great live. I heard This Island Earth live in 2007 and it was my favorite song of the gig.

Support band for the SB Empire gigs will be the Phenominal Handclap Band, whose website promises a blend of "psych, soul & cosmic disco". :?

Glad I've got standing tickets, rather than needing to arrive early to scramble for the best of the unreserved seating...

Interesting promotional clip on Youtube of Rihanna travelling on the Jubilee Line from Waterloo to her O2 gig with her fans.

Given SB Empire's proximity to Olympia, perhaps J.O'B could ask BF which bus route he'll be catching to his December gigs, as it would be nice to have a chat on the way! ;)

Smudge, I do alright for myself but to say I have an Empire is pushing the boat out. I see the protesters have to be gone by 6pm (no pun intended) this evening. :o
