It's criminal that the new album wasn't sold in supermarkets, had it been it would have charted a lot higher. People who are out shopping tend to buy music on a whim.

I checked the Sainsbury website yesterday & Avonmore was in their chart. I guess from downloads from their online shopping site? Position was similar to official chart once various artist albums were filtered out if I remember correctly.

'Avonmore' is no. 8 at 'jpc.de' Charts. Pink Floyd's 'Endless River' is no. 1, AC/DC's 'Rock Or Bust' no. 2.

Mind you this is his thirtieth top twenty album release since 1972, so it's not all bad.

Thanks Alan. That's a couple of thousand more copies than Olympia sold if memory serves (and without as much hype this time).

Avonmore enters at N° 19. Let's hope it will stay in the top 20 next week !

To some extent it's not surprising given what we know about the availability of the physical CD and the marked drop of airplay compared to the week of release - last week 'Loop de Li' was on the Radio 2 'A' List and 'Avonmore' was album of the week, this week BF features nowhere in the R2 Playlist. :(
