I love, enjoy, appreciate all Bryan's work and that is why I try to contribute to the forum. The range of styles, quality, and depth continues to show amazing creativity.

If I ever find myself extremely bored one rainy Sunday I must remember to sign up to loads of fan forums and say that I don't like the music. Then again, how dull is that.

Oh my dears, Windswept2 is going to have to explain why he dismisses "Is your love strong enough?" so frequently.

I would add that "Dance with life" would be my bugbear - Ferry being not Ferry , a rare occurrence.

Is Your Love... is Ferry, is it not?

PS I suspect W2 , given his penchant for sartorial excellence, will refer to Ferry's super trousers in the promo video.

Well written, Topiary!
And of course I agree with W2 who stated something like all Ferry is good Ferry. Bien sur! The only track I try to avoid is Goodnight Irene.
Bonne soirée à tous!

Well it would be dull if we all shared the same likes and dislikes. We all have our favourite periods of Roxy/Ferry. It would be impossible to love absolutely everything.

I really like parts of Bete Noir including TNOTG - yes it does sound like a Madonna cast off in a lot of places but I guess it was a decision to try and crack the 'Madge Market' using her producer.

Indeed several of the musicians crop up on both (Messers Pratt, Williams, Robinson, etc) and Leonard's hand is all over it. It was also recorded across the world at various studios.

This album was at the centre of a lawsuit between Ferry and EG around the marketing of it in Canada and the US.

Where does it sit in the Ferry catalogue? IMHO its in the middle of his solo work and doesn't really touch the bottom of the Roxy output apart from F&B perhaps.

Everybody will have their own Ferry faves and I am no exception. I just feel this is the beginning of Ferry's real obsession with layering instrument on instrument on instrument. Some of it works and some of it doesn't. Maybe its the mix.

Hey ho!

Yeah right, I can barely think of anything worse.

Might be the confines / constraints of writing a song for a film that has resulted in either a less than hoped for song or style.

It's not unusual for many artists to suffer at the movies. I think Mr Ferry has said he would like to try more perhaps recognising unfinished ambition.

To me the best part of Legend is Bryan's track at the end. That might be saying more about the film than the music.

Dance with Life - Words & Music by Bernie Taupin & Martin Page.

Bryan can't take all the blame for that one. :)

8-)
