My guess is that, unless the album is capable of arriving in time for the pre-Xmas shopping period (in which case it would probably need to be ready for next month...), it'll probably be allowed to slide into early 2015, with some UK dates to promote it. If there was going to be anything live in the UK this year, maybe it would just be something in London immediately pre-Xmas (although I might then wonder why I'd forked out to go to Munich! ). My money's on next year being more likely, though...

Well, this is probably how the record company would like us to think, always believing, always hoping for the best. "2015" might mean any time in that year, I`d say...

If it slips into next year it's very disappointing. Wasn't this first mooted for a 2013 release? I certainly recall March 14 being itself a deferred release date so if it goes into next year it will be at least a year 'late'. There can't be many artists in respect of which there are so many false dawns - Roxy anniversay albums, 2011 live DVD, this album - we could collectively add many more. It's not rocket science - mankind put a man on the moon 45 years ago but evidently some people in 2014 can't grasp the basics of a calendar. Sigh.

I couldn't find anything about 2015 on bryanferry.com - where did you get that info from?

If it does come out this year, then hopefully there should be some news soon. If we get to the end of September then you can safely say it will be next year. For example 'Mamouna' I seem to recall was announced in May 1994 and came out in the September, 'Dylanesque' was made public in October 2006 and came out the following Spring, 'Olympia' we all knew about in the early summer 2010 before it's October release. There has always been plenty of notice when it comes to a new Ferry product, and past experience tells me that, yes perhaps the new year now.

if there is to be a new album released this year, then the official announcement of a release date needs to come VERY SOON. Either its available for the X-mas season or it is pushed back to the late winter/spring 2015.
Sigh. My sense is that it won't be released this year and will show up sometime in 2015.
Although he is approaching his 69th birthday, Ferry-Lord appears to be operating in a world where time goes on and on and on... What's the rush? Last year at this time he was talking about the new album coming out in May 2014. Then he later adjusted the prognosis to Fall 2014. And now? Who knows...

You would think the sooner he releases the album, the sooner he can move on to his next project. And as much as I love 'Olympia' I do think it's time for a group record, and this should have happened nearly a decade ago.

A Norwegian journo who visited Bryan`s studio just before his concert at the Molde jazz fesival in the summer of 2013, mentioned a handwritten board hanging in his studio where it said "release March 2014". Bryan recklessly replied "Then you know more than me".

You'd think that tours and albums would go hand-in-hand with Bryan as they do with most acts, but it seems not. After all he began a tour in support of "Bete Noire" in the 80s a full year after the album came out. So essentially this year's tour has been a chance to play the US again and to maintain his profile in Europe with a set list substantially based on the Roxy back catalogue being played by a largely new band (no Colin or Oliver). No new product to promote at all on the road.
Nothing wrong with that I suppose - maybe new material isn't so important to Bryan any more (and yet he still spends so long crafting and refining it), albums of new stuff are never going to sell these days in the quantities they did back in the 80s and live shows are now where the significant money is being made. But if the album comes out say in Spring 2015 and he tours it almost immediately then he'll surely risk overplaying certain markets.
