Brilliant Roxy. I've been a BIG fan for over 40 years (eek!) but never been lucky enough to meet the man, don't suppose I ever will. Never expected it to be part of the package though so not too disappointed - just wanted to be sure of good seats :)

As hoped for and anticipated, there were richer pickings today in the general sale than during the pre-sale fiasco on Wednesday...

None of the agencies (kindly listed by Roxy earlier in this thread) was offering anything better than 48 hours earlier, so I phoned the Albert Hall box office; no joy there initially either, as the best stalls seat was about 60% of the way back from the stage.

However, the sales person suggested trying later, as some people might have several seats in their online shopping baskets and release some of them when they'd made final decisions. It turned out to be a good tip; around noon I got a top price seat in block O, looking along the edge of the stage (only a handful of rows behind the seat I had for the 2013 tour).

Decided I couldn't wait until the tour was a month old, though, so booked online for Oxford New Theatre at the start of it all; could have got front row in the wings, but decided on row E for the best seat that was neither VIP, nor restricted view.

Happy enough with my purchases in the end, but it was a bit like pulling teeth, wasn't it, folks?

Well done Smudge! It is not good for the nerves, a gamble but it was worthwhile holding off for the general sale. That was my experience for the AEWBF tour tickets.

I took row F for Glasgow in the presale and could only have improved by 2 rows to D this morning so I can cope with that.

I got 2nd row for Newcastle City Hall in the presale which was brilliant as it will be my first time there and I wanted a decent seat.

That left me with only the one venue to concentrate on this morning and despite a couple of panics I managed to get what I was after direct from the venue's own box office. Even when they dumped my tickets out of my basket I managed to get the same ones back again. All at standard prices, no VIP so easier on the pocket................I think as I have not added it all up yet!

I really dislike the way tickets are sold nowadays but it is what we have to get on with. If only there was one selling point then we would all start from the same place.

So like we thought and the general sale proved to be a bit more successful than the presale! Got tickets for Glasgow this morning in row B. Row A were available but it was right at the very end where as row B was central to the stage.

And so my itinerary is complete with shows at Harrogate, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow and Blackpool. All decent seats with the furthest back being row H. Even took a few extra days holiday to recover afterwards!

Have to say though that booking the tickets this year was more a chore than it's ever been. I remember using the link for presale last year for the meet and greet and securing front row tickets as soon as the link went live. Not sure this year if it was down to management or promoters but it was not the best experience!

So we have the new album to look forward to and hopefully Bryan completes his current tour in fine form and then has a few months rest before rehearsals/tour next year.

It would be really special if he released a DVD/CD of the 2013 'An Evening With....' tour just before he sets off on next years tour. The Live in Lyon DVD was released before the 2013 tour so here's hoping....

Well done Scott! That's a pretty full schedule you have there. I assume you went for the VIP tickets at Glasgow? It looked like they used the full rows for the VIP price this time (rather than only the central seats) as last time I got row A seats in the general sale at the standard price.

I agree that the whole thing seemed a real chore this year and quite stressful. A lot of people have been saying how chaotic it seemed to be, especially on Ticketmaster with the CD/Vinyl being added on. I know someone who ended up with four copies of Avonmore. :) I got my tickets from Gigs & Tours/O2 presale and it runs much faster there, not so many stages and no encrypted code thingys to deal with. I got the others today direct on the venue's own website where you can pick the seats you want from the chart rather than being offered seats.

It is a good feeling though when it is all in the bag and you don't have to worry about it. The album will be out a week before my birthday but can't wait till then for it but a little fairy might bring me the vinyl on the day if I behave.
