Loop de li ...at least what I heard of it...was written for horoscope (your love has died).

Btw, I don't mind in the slightest when something was written or when one track ( instrumental or vocal) or another was laid down that much. I just want the album to be good....and I really like what I've heard so far.

Mes Amis,
Windswept is with UK Richard and Roxysiren on this one.
The origin of the song can be and often is interesting but the question remains - is it a good LP or not?
Launch date will reveal all. Meanwhile the snippets are tres interessant nest ce pas?
a tout a l'heure
W.
PS. Who out there will be buying the poet of the holy sinners new album tomorrow? He has a voice deeper than a Siberian coal mine but the record, 'Popular Problems', is superb.

Just to hark back to a comment earlier in the thread, which mentions, sadly, that there may only be about 12 regular's on this forum, these days.

That would be about, correct.

Most have moved to facebook, (same VRM address) not only for the fastest, most up to date reliable and accurate info, news and great video clips of all things Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry, but because, most do not want to hear one load of drivel, in French.

Regards.

Correct Sadie's Boyfriend, well said. Btw, the "new" album is just "Horoscope", it sounds like Robin Trower's guitar playing and the other keyboard sounds etc. from 93/94.
This is actually quite sad.

Those who do contribute here may not always agree (nor necessarily should they) but you can't doubt their passion, whatever language it is written in.
If numbers have dwindled, I don't think it's conducive to the Forum's survival to be disparaging of others.

I fullhartedly agree with UKRichard. As long as there's more than one active member there's always disagreement in internet forums and there are always some people you like more and others you like less. Personally attacking one member of this forum and making him responsible for dwindling numbers is really quite childish.

Cher UK Richard,
Merci mais, Windswept's shoulders are broad! Albeit he has to confess to being envious of somebody who can detect Robin Trower's guitar from a 30" snippet!
Concerning our hero's new opus, much has been said about it's origins and gestation period.
Windswept has just listened to the Bard Of The Boudoir's new LP, the fabulous "Popular Problems" and the Bard himself confesses that one of the songs, "Born In Chains" has been forty years in the making.
Clearly Ferry is not the only artist that takes time to produce quality work and frankly how long things have been in the works doesn't determine their quality one way or another.
Interestingly, most of the tracks on Laughing Lennie's new album are co-written with Ferry's collaborator on "Bete Noir", Patrick Leonard. When Windswept reflects on that album and listens to what he has done with Cohen, he can't help but hope that they will get back together again. Stand out tracks are numerous but "Almost Like The Blues" is a stonker and the whole record signals a direction Windswept would love to see Bryan take but of course, in his own inimitable way.
Cohen's album artwork is also fabulous and the Bard is looking incredibly sharp at 80. He's even making a walking stick a sartorial item. What an inspiration!
Felicitations a tous and remember, if you can't be good, be cool!
Windswept

Aha - a new BF album is shortly arriving.

Just listened to the snippets on Amazon and though it is impossible to really tell what the thing is like, I will make the following observations

1. Very Mamouna/Taxi sounding
2. Avonmore sounds the best to me
3. Quite like Send In The Clowns
4. The sound quality is not as good as I thought it would be - sounds very hot to me
5. Overall not that great to be honest

We shall see

If you want to pontificate about Laughing Lennie's album artwork or how sartorial his walking stick is or the Bard of God knows where please go to the appropriate forums and spout it out in French or whatever there.
Sadie's Boyfriend is perfectly correct, this is the type of annoying tripe that pisses people off, he actually beat me, and others I know, to posting my feelings about it.
We come on here to talk about BF and, at the moment, the news of his forthcoming album...btw if you can't hear any 93/94 sounds your hearing must be as bad as your patter.
Now f.....no, I better not.

If there are people on this forum whose contributions you do not wish to read there is always the possibility of putting them on your ignore-list:

- go to that person's profile
- click the "add foe" link
- confirm
- be happy.

Consequently you will not see that person's contributions anymore. (But you'll be able to make them visible again any time you want, in case you change your mind.) There is really no need for personal attacks or hostile remarks.
