At no point in the thread did I discuss, nor mention his forthcomong album. You seem like a decent guy. Based on that, can I get your thoughts on this?
Bearing in mind, we have just lost another major player in the Scheme of Roxy Music, Johnny Gustuffson, would you not have thought that the remaining original members of the band might now think it appropriate to, at least, think about things?
I would dearly love Roxy Music to do something else, a tour, an album, even an appearance together. Time is getting on. I would say the shoe is now on the other foot, in that, I think Bryan would now be the one that would want it most. What do you think, and in what guise would you love to see Roxy re-form?
Best wishes.

SB - I only cited the new album in the context that that's the thread we're on. However, thanks for responding in the positive way that you did and effectively drawing a line under that particular exchange. There's enough discord in the world without those with a shared love of an artist finding things to bicker about! As for Roxy, maybe an existing thread is better placed to deal with it but personally I don't ever see it happening. There can be few if any here who would not dearly want it and I count myself among them but I think the time to do it was on the back of the triumphant 2001 tour or even after the 2005 dates when we know there was recording activity. The FYP dates for me were not at all encouraging. There seemed to be no real camaraderie on the stage and the rather sad impression I was left with was the creative spark had gone. Indeed I rather hoped that 2011 might be the last I see of RM as I'd prefer to remember them as the rather more dynamic ensemble they once were. That's not the feeling I expected to hold upon leaving the gig that night. With so many groups of the 60s, 70s and 80s (the decades and their ages!) reforming now, and some putting out material that adds little to their earlier body of work, it's almost the cooler and more fashionable thing to pass on the opportunity. Whilst BF continues to record and tour and the rest of the guys quietly do, rather beautifully, what they do, I am happy. That's not to say I wouldn't wholeheartedly get behind any new Roxy project, but in its absence I'm grateful for what I have. Have a good day.

Team BF posted on facebook that a track of the new album will be played on the Ken Bruce show on BBC Radio 2: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04gyn3kThe show is on for another 20 Minutes and until now no Ferry track listed on the website, maybe we still have a chance? Anyway, afterwards the show will be available on the internet for a week or so.

The release date will now be 17th November.Thereby narrowly missing a direct clash with the hoopla surrounding the Manzanera produced "new" Pink Floyd album (due on 10th Nov, I believe), which, coincidentally, also includes tracks which were started 20 years ago. Seems to be something of a trend...

It looks as though any recent squabbles here are getting amicably resolved; as one who's on friendly terms with both WS2 and SB, that comes as a bit of a relief. I must confess to having some sympathy with those who find posts difficult to follow due to passing lapses into foreign languages. As someone who was reputed to be a cunning linguist in his college days, I became aware the hard way that such lapses run the risk of seeming inconsiderate or a bit pretentious (not to mention the fact that the scars left by grammar schooling make me twitch when I notice French spelling or grammatical errors... ). Given that many of our European friends here seem to have a better grasp of the Queen's English than most of us Brits do, maybe we can stick to it here, so that we "natives" can brush up our skills?! I look forward to us all playing nicely together again in the VRM schoolyard during the breaks from lessons.

Elegantly Ageing Hipsters, We now have the first single "Loop De Li" and it certainly heralds a return to the halcyon era of "Bete Noir". To Windswept's ear, it has a nice haunting feel, some great guitar work and is extremely well mixed but falls short of being a great song. IWNSHO, it's a good song, but not great. That said, Windswept's hopes for the album remain high. "You Can Dance" was possibly his least favourite track on "Olympia" yet the album, taken as a whole is first class and the prospect of a Johnny Marr co-write bodes well. "The Right Stuff" was none too shabby! It's going to be interesting to see if our hero adds "Loop De Li" and other songs from "Avonmore" to tonight's Milwaukee set list? You Bucks fans out there could be the first to get a taste! a bien tôt, Windswept Ps. Un grand merci a tout le monde for their public and private messages of support. Windswept won't be put of his stride by a couple of errant Bay City Roller fans. This hallowed cyber hall is fare too important for that — all styles served here! PPs. Kenny Everet was a God and is alive and well interviewing BF on youtube!
