Thanks Roxyboy, was a good interview. Bryan's so shy, but not too shy to ask my friend out for dinner when I met him in '94 at the after-show party in Montreal.

She was a smoking hot model, and she told me that Bryan told her to come alone, meaning not with me!

"So Mr. Ferry, we have a bone to pick!" But I'll let it go since you & Gloria inspired me to become a singer-songwriter.

All was not lost, David Williams wanted to party, so he & I did so until 5:30 A.M. RIP David.

Ageing Hipsters,
What a brilliant interview and bravo to Roxyboy for posting it!
It's absolutely the best I've seen with Geordie's favourite son.
I tried to watch it a while ago but buffering or some other such technological nonsense defeated me.
Anyway, this time I saw the whole thing in uninterrupted splendour and what a peach it is.
Virginia is a brilliant mediator. She obviously loves her subject matter and knows her stuff inside out.
The interview is beautifully structured and she incorporated some unusual visuals that showed she'd spent some quality time researching our hero.
It was great to see the Gas Board shots, the photos of the exterior of Marcus Price's original shop and Newcastle City in the '50s and '60s. They all really allowed her to capture the ambience the era.
Refreshingly, she asked intelligent and informed questions, brought fresh insights and created great chemistry.
Watching it meant a lot to me. I'm from the North-East and ironically, the first time I saw Ferry was at a Gas Board gig he and the last time I saw him with Roxy was in Sydney albeit, I subsequently saw his terrific Olympia show at Vienna's Opera House. So, in a funny sort of way, I feel I've run the gamut with him.
That said, I can't help but find it bizarre that it takes an antipodean, even one so attractive, to bring us the perfect tete a tete .
I wonder if she's available to write his biography?
I bet she'd do a hell of a job!
Regards,
Windswept
