Bryan's SoundCloud page just added a NEW set called: "THE JAZZ AGE (Originals)". Maybe we'll get a sneak preview of some new stuff! 3 songs there now. They are adding more as I write this. So far... 1. Do The Strand 2. Love Is The Drug 3. Don't Stop The Dance 4. Just Like You 5. Avalon 6. The Bogus Man 7. Slave To Love 8. This Is Tomorrow 9. The Only Face 10. I Thought 11. Reason Or Rhyme 12. Virginia Plain 13. This Island Earth http://soundcloud.com/bryanferry/sets/the-jazz-age-originals/ |

Hard to figure out what these tracks (I've listened up to Avalon) have to do with The Jazz Age. Just like You sounds a little jazzy, but the rest sound a lot like the original versions we're familiar with. (Don't Stop the Dance is a remix that sounds like the track used for BF's Corporate Gigs.) Not sure how these tracks relate to the impending album... |

Depens whether its ATGB, Kind of Blue or Bitches Brew type jazz - could be interesting or not - we shall see |

Geriatric Hipsters, The last time I was this excited, I'd just bought my first velvet suit at Marcus Price! 1920s indeed. Mrs Windswept will be reviving her "Flapper" wardrobe (at least I think she said "Flapper" — it might have been "Slapper"). In any event, this is going to be amazing. Regards, Windswept. |

So, Soundcloud has the original versions of the 13 tracks which have been re-worked into a vintage jazz style for release as an album called The Jazz Age? Is that about the size of it? Obviously it would make no sense to post the re-worked versions or we wouldn't all be bursting to open our wallets at the end of Nov! ![]() As a dyed-in-the-wool jazzer, as well as a Roxy fan for nearly 40 years, I should find the results very interesting indeed! ![]() |

Hmmm. 20s Jazz. Others may find this to be exciting and alluring. As for me, I'm a bit apprehensive and can't help think that this will be something like ATGB Vol. 2. For people who like ATGB this is of course a good thing. For people like me who aren't big fans of ATGB, this is not so exciting. But maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised... My sense is that ATGB sold pretty well (certainly better than Olympia) and that the record company will find the new album something they can readily promote. BF as the fashionable crooner. He certainly looks the part! |
