Tour with the "Bryan Ferry Orchestra" - do a mix of the album's jazz takes on his songs - and mix it in with wonderful arrangements of the RM and BF catalogue - just like the ATGB tour.

Thoughts?

It's certainly a possibility.

I guess the big question resolves around the issue of economic viability. As posters on this board have pointed out, the BFO that recorded TJA included some major jazz performers; could a BFO tour generate enough revenue to pay their salaries and also make it economically worthwhile for BF himself? I don't know the answer to that. But if sales of TJA turn out to be strong, then the likelihood of a tour of sorts definitely increases as a means of spurring more sales. But if TJA encounters a big commercial yawn and experiences weak sales then the likelihood of a tour will suffer IMHO.

Regardless, it does seem that if the BFO plays gigs to promote TJA, then BF will have to sing at least some songs to keep the paying public happy.

There's an interview on BryanFerry@Networld on Facebook were the interviewer asks what's next and BF replies that a limited tour is in the works and it will be a mix of some vocals and mostly instrumental. Rather like Annabel's I suspect. Done in smaller Art Deco venues it should be very nice. I think us on the other side of the pond will miss out. I'll be happy with my 10" folio. Would love to see it though. Saw the ATGB gig at the Beacon in NYC and that was wonderful.

I emailed the music programmer of the Montreal Jazz Festival, which is the biggest in the world, and have said they know of Bryan and have his contact info. They sent my request to a committee & they will consider it. Excuse me.

She also said that the musicians usually pay their own way to Montreal. What? It ain't gonna happen! Eh Bryan? <tongue planted deep in my cheek> :P

Will hammer away and go straight to the office, hand them TJA CD and demand they invite him, that is of course, if his website (it's a black hole it seems) answers the email.
