Good to see TJA back in the UK album chart (number 82 in the overall chart and number 35 in the Official Record Store Chart and in the Amazon chart). Once again given the time of year it must have shifted a good few thousand copies in the last week, presumably boosted by the TV advert. I've not seen the advert yet. Can anyone who has tell me what's in it? Is it based on the promo video for Do The Strand? |

I would say it is based on the promos which have appeared on BF.Com, maybe be cut together a bit different and with a voiceover and close up of the album cover. Good to hear it has gone back in the charts ![]() ![]() |

TJA is not listed in the top 100 albums in the latest UK Album charts. |

Indeed DCJ, they're both very different measures. Independent record stores have long complained that the Official Album Chart bears little resemblence to their own experience because it is so easily skewed by offers in the big retailers like HMV (sic) and Tesco, Asda etc. That explains why, so often (but not exclusively), things like Jackson's No.1s, Abba Gold etc inexplicably re-enter the chart quite highly. If a label discounts a title that might have an effect on the Record Store Chart but otherwise their chart isn't 'distorted' in the same way. I guess it's a good indicator to record stores themselves what's selling. Clearly TJA isn't selling in sufficient numbers (or is even available) in those stores whose sales make up the Official Album chart, but it is quietly continuing to sell modestly elsewhere. |

Yes, good points. TJA seems to have sold quite well at outlets where it is actually available (and at a non-discounted price too). In addition to spending 5 weeks in the top 40 of the Official Record Store chart, it was in the Amazon top 100 best sellers for 2 months solid. |
