Elegantly Ageing Hipsters,
I couldn't believe my eyes when I picked this mass market rag up at my barbers and discovered that GQ's dysfunctional, visually impaired and taste bypassed panel had put our hero at No.32!
Behind, would you believe it, the likes of Grayson Perry, Sir Elton John, David Furnish, Gary Barlow, David Cameron and a host of other new do wells.
How can this be and what has our "Geordie's Favourite Son" done to deserve this insult?
OK, as previously mentioned in these hallowed cyber halls, there have been the odd missteps (fur trimmed parka, jihadist scarf, trouser-gate etc..) But even these withstanding, there can be no doubting that our hero remains the definitive style icon and should be treat as such.
If this motley monthly pertains to be the style bible it's little wonder that our streets are populated with Chavs. If I had a subscription I would cancel it! My blood boils!
Regards Windswept

Great post dear windswept!
Utterly disgraceful behaviour from GQ. Fancy putting Elton above ...the mind boggles.
I'm considering writing to my MEP ;) and I never thought I'd say that, not having a clue who s/he is.

Hard to disagree with much of what you say old chap. I wouldn't take too much issue with Gary Barlow because he has some damn fine taste in suits these days. But Elton etc - oh dear.

Our hero's well deserved sartorial reputation may have slipped ever so slightly because his most visual look - on stage - has become rather stagnant of late. It really hasn't changed much at all for 14 years. OK, it's classy, timeless and his pink and lime green suit days are probably (rightly) behind him, but I'd like to see something a little different on the 2013 tour.

An improvment on last year's No. 36!

Since he got the "GQ Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2005 he seems to to be slipping down the list each year.

8-)

Oh dear after many years at the top he's 'Slipping down the list' indeed :o - You'd have thought with a younger wife she's be advising him how to stay on top! I have noticed for a while now he appears to be 'flogging' the same type of outfits on a regular basis.

Could it be that his "Baggy Pants in Belfast" made him lose favor among the GQ Fashionista? I knew that he would pay for that misstep!!!! OH MY! What was he thinking???
