Ageing Hipsters & Jazz Age Supporters, Very interesting post from Monsieur Dexter. It looks like TJA has been quite a success and deservedly so. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets a very big second wind when Baz Luhrmann's "Great Gatsby" is released. Evidently our hero has provided music for the movie. It would be great if there is additional material that hasn't been released. I live in hope. Regards, Windswept |

The Great Gatsby will indeed be very interesting as far as BF as well the BFO are concerned. Some interesting stuff has been recorded by BF for this movie. J.O'B |

I read in an article that the movie was put back from Christmas 2012 to May 2013 in order to allow some new music to be added to the soundtrack. Prince and Lady Gaga were also rumoured to be amongst the new possible additions. A Baz Luhrmann soundtrack will be a great opportunity for Bryan and the orchestra and I am looking forward to hear what may transpire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7AFnJbETLw ![]() |

The article cites European sales but it would be interesting to know how it is faring in the US where, after all, it was number 1 on the jazz chart. I was in Barnes and Noble at Easter where the album was being played in full, presumably not for the first time following BF's PA. It certainly made for wonderful ambience in such a terrific bookstore. |
