Hi,

As it's ever so quiet on here I wondered what other members of the forum's top 20 (less if you like), favourite tracks by Bryan between 1986 (Is Your Love Strong Enough) up to & including the Olympia album in 2011.

Bryan's (inc. Roxy) most productive and commercially successful period was between 1972 up to & including Boys & Girls in 1985.

Thereafter sales of new material dropped off, and he was never to trouble the top ten singles chart in the UK again.

Personally my favourite period was 1972-1985 and I would struggle to find more than 3 tracks good enough to make a best of album in the years following. Let's see your choices - I know some on here love the Mamouna album, and all or parts of Frantic - 'I Thought' being a favourite of many. So your top twenty favourite Ferry songs from 1986 onwards are?

Good thread idea. Merits some serious attention. Might take a while (& a decent cup of Hendricks, tonic and cucumber) :)

Unfortunately most of any top 10 in the period would be mostly covers. Certainly not his best period for original material. In no particular order :-

Spell on You
It's All Over Now Baby Blue
Cruel
and most of Dylanesque
Song to a Siren.
You Can Dance is good musically but a poor vocal.

Reason or Rhyme
Don`t want to know
A fool for love
Bête noir
The only face
Chain reaction
The name of the game
I thought
Alphaville
New town
San Simeon
Day for Night
Limbo
Mamouna
Which way to turn
Nobody loves me
Goddess of love
Kiss & Tell
Your painted smile
Hiroshima...

For me, "Mamouna" is the heart of BF:s music. But it´s fairly amazing that he has entertained us for many decades with music ranging from pop, rock, soul and jazz. !Viva Bryan!

I pretty much agree with all the sentiments. However, I would put most of the tracks from the alphaville sessions (in that unreleased form) in the top 20. Love War...wonderful
