Having read with interest , the comments re the Manchester gig, I just wanted to say that my long- suffering hubby and I had a fantastic evening last night in the cosy New Theatre and indeed my other half said that it was the best Bryan Ferry gig that he'd ever seen.We enjoyed the BF orchestra and particularly Enrico Tomasso on trumpet. It was obvious that Colin was enjoying being the supremo at this point. There was a very seamless blend as the jazz was enveloped by the rock and indeed it was lovely to have all the brass and sax ( Ian Dixon was superb ) on the Roxy/BF tracks. I loved hearing the less-played material ( after 40 years of adulation ) how nice to hear " When She Walks in the Room ", " Carrickfergus " and even " NYC " . Agree with everyone that Jealous Guy, Lets Stick Together and LITD have been done to death. The audience for the most part had dressed up for the gig and Bryan was thoroughly enjoying himself and his voice was the best I have heard in some years. He is best suited to these small intimate venues rather than big stadiums. Thee only grumble was the sour puss steward ( fraulein miserable ) who kept telling people to turn off their phones, cameras and not to dance even one inch away from your seat !! Still she was best ignored and we had an absolutely delightful evening . Wonderful :D

Thanks for that :) I have been unable to find a press review for the Oxford show so it is good to hear from someone who was there.

8-)
