So what was Isabella's favorite BF song? Was it "Take Me to the River" (from TBSB)? The interviewer says it so fast that, even after repeated listenings, I'm not sure what is being said.

This is no doubt a very interesting clip and a delight for any devoted BF fan. But I couldn't help but be reminded of the classic line from Joan Baez's "Diamonds and Rust":

"You who are so good with words, And at keeping things vague"

Clearly BF was a good friend of hers, but the nature of their relationship is -- at least to me -- still rather vague, or at least elusive, given that it appears to have lasted for some thirty years or so.

The song in question. Is When She Walks In The Room, Colin Good did a military band arrangement that was played at her funeral. There is a Recording of that online somewhere.

It's on Bryan Ferry's Soundcloud page, John. Performed, if memory serves, by the Irish Guards. It's a wonderful arrangement.

Mes Amis,
The great Jesmond is correct. It is an absolutely fabulous version.
Not that I'm in any hurry to get there but I'd love it at my last fandango - after they've played Carrickfergus!
Regards,
Windswept.

Save them up for your funeral, Windswept; your last fandango deserves something with far more rhythm (lumber up, limbo down...)! ;)

I think I now have a better sense of why BF was so seemingly vague in the interview. The wikipedia entry on Isabella Blow is succinct yet respectful in bringing across the inherent sadness of IB's life.

New York magazine featured a retrospective/obituary that is worth reading.

Scroll down a bit and there's a nice pix of BF and IB in 2006

And here's a great hat that makes you realize that Lady GaGa falls short of being the trailblazer she would like to think she is...
