Are you working on any other studio work? Oh yes. We have not been idle. The [new] album’s nearly completed; it hasn’t been mixed yet, and there are a couple of songs that need to be finished off, but most of it is there. We’re supposed to get back into the studio in May and June and finish it, and hopefully it’ll be out in late September. That’s the plan. What’s it sounding like? It’s my songs, written over the last few years. It’s hard to say what the style of it is, really. But it’s kind of a rock album; it’s not a jazz album. It’s something I’m so far really pleased with. Is your current band on the record? It’s different people. Not the very new guys in my band; they haven’t even heard the stuff yet. But there’s some great people playing on it. Nile Rodgers, of course, who I’ve worked with on and off for many years. Flea from the Chili Peppers [is on there]. Oh, Johnny Marr—he plays guitar on it. He is fantastic, and he has such a great energy about him. His new band is really good, too. interview! The full interview is quite interesting ![]() http://lasvegas.greatlocalnews.info/?p=68145 ![]() |

Thanks for posting Roxy. Very interesting read....and encouraging for me, in that I liked what he was saying about the stuff of his he's liked. It bodes well too for the upcoming stuff. This guy has still got a great compass. |

Elegantly Ageing Hipsters, This interview is very interesting. I couldn't get it through the link so I googled "Bryan Ferry Las Vegas interview" and got it that way. First off, it was good to hear what he said about AEWBF. He was pleased he did it (and boy so was I) but he said it was "a big band to carry around". Not a surprise perhaps but confirmation of why TBFO didn't make it state side. Secondly it was very interesting to hear that he preferred the slow tracks on the "Jazz Age". So did I and I would love him to do a "Jazz Age Deuxieme Souffle" with some real noir tracks. Frankly I think TBFO are so good they should be given a life of their own. A residency at 'Ronnie Scotts' would be fantastic and our hero could just drop in for a drink or do the odd impromptu song. That would be so cool. Windswept would take up residency lui meme! Last but by no means least, great to here Geordie's Favourite Son's genuine excitement for his new album. Looks good. Regards, Windswept |
