Good Evening to all fellow Roxyologists and Ferryistas. It is Lori.
I am inquiring about if ANYONE has any Video Footage to scan and post to You Tube of these 2 extaordinary and extra special Concert Events in both the Annals of Roxy Music History and Bryan Ferry's Solo Career's History I have read the original Dublin Discussion Thread posted Here In Bryan Ferry's Forum. However there has not been any thing added to it since Saturday. So I decided to start and open another One. If there is ANY active and fully functional Musician Who is as intelligent and as articulate on/in " this "Island Earth " It is Bryan Ferry. He is so committed and driven ambitiously to His craft. It is on a level that is truly frightening. His Musical knowledge seems to know NO bounds or limits. He truly wants to push the envelope to the edge of the cliff. Then push it OFF.
If any Musician can bring and blend 3 unlikely Genres of Music together and make a truly spectacular and A Once-In-A-Lifetime Event out of it as far as Sound and Vision is concerned Bryan Ferry is about One of a very small few Who can pull this Off. A Mammoth task indeed! Rock & Roll, Jazz, and Classical/Orchestral Music are not so easily blended together with each other. Although i will type Here that I do enjoy both The Trans Siberian Orchestra and Manheim Steam Roller's Vision of what they do.
Although they only blend Rock & Roll with Classical/Orchestral Music, No Jazz that I am ware of.
So this State-Side Fan would very much like to SEE/HEAR what both of these Concerts LOOKED and SOUNDED like!
I have been so anxious for it!
Bryan Ferry has sheer courage and determination always thinking about new and exciting ways to present The Roxy Music and His Solo Catalog to The World over!
I totally LOVE and appreciate and admire this Man. I also very much respect Him.
Fans are really so lucky to have Him.
I thank any and all Fans in advance Who are able to scan and post any Videos of The Dublin Orchestral Shows that they may have to You Tube for Me!
Love to all, Lori!

On the first night the auditorium staff were gesturing at members of the audience to stop taking photographs. Photos were still secretly taken afterwards, but it may have deterred any potential videographers...

Fortunately I was in the front row for once, but it is a pain in the arse at seated gigs if you shell out decent money and find yourself watching the show through the phone screen of the selfish person in front of you (not so bad at standing gigs, as it's easier to either move away or to keep jogging their raised arm! ;) )...

Personally smudge, I like to enjoy life after the fact, via the YouTube video of my (historic) experience at a gig, which I selflessly sacrificed in the name of social media broadcasting. Who cares what's going on in real time? Capture that moment on mp4v!

Not.

Ps. I feel you brother.

Mes Amis,
Although I confess to being a little hypocritical regarding this point as I do watch any footage featuring the musical antics of our hero, I have to agree with the great Monsieur Smudge.
Nothing is worse than ne'er-do-wells waving their electrical appliances in front of you at shows. On numerous occasions, Windswept has considered strangling offenders with his dark blue, knitted silk Charvet tie.
Happily, this didn't happen in Dublin. The Irish audience were great. You could have heard a pin drop whilst our hero was treating us to his heart felt melancholy angst and they rocked out like Banshees during the concert climax.
There was also adequate dancing room but not quite sufficient for Windswept to practice his world famous back kick — much to Madame W's relief.
Sadly it looks like there won't be a DVD/CD - such a shame because it was completely fantastic!
a bien tôt,
Windswept.

I agree with the "watching a concert through a camera" comments. Also, there is nothing worse than having someone taller behind you position their camera/phone/video right above your head and leaning over you. At times like this I help them by making sure I have my arms in the air and clap with gusto which may spoil their recording, what a shame. That and some sharp elbows when dancing goes a long way.

Cher Roxy,
Great technique - clearly a Roxologist of quality!
I fear these appliance wielders are the same characters that can't walk down the street without staring into their phone whilst bashing into everybody or, even worse, weave around in a voiture with said attachment protruding out of their ears!
Whatever happened to the art of being cool?
Happily our hero sets the standard.
a bien tôt,
Windswept
