Perhaps it's a consequence of the cell phone audio, but the vocals come across as very raspy and difficult to decipher...

Mes Amis,
Windswept quite enjoyed this subtle homage to the late, great Robert Palmer (RIP).
cordialement,
WS.

A super ready made for now.
It's good to see a live version.
Terje is performing in London on Friday 15 August, though I doubt Ferry will grace the stage for another guest performance.

I just listened to it again and found it to be a very sobering vocal performance (that's a polite way of saying I found it very depressing)

Imagine if BF's two backup singers had come out and sung J&M by themselves with this instrumental background. It could have been quite remarkable and moving. Quite different methinks from BF's solo take...

To the extent it's discernible, I think the vocal here sounds good and better than the studio version. It's hard to be sure as either the sound on the night wasn't great / well mixed or, more likely, this phone audio isn't all that it could be. I think only those who were there could lay this one to rest.

Maybe it's the result of bad sound through the mixing board and a crummy cell phone recording. That's a possibility I guess...

This pro-shot version may be worthy of reconsideration:
