And an airing for the title track, Avonmore.
Plus Captain Bill from BA, December 2000.

Elegantly Ageing Hipsters,
Windswept quite enjoyed this one.
Great to hear him talk about Newcastle.
I wonder which tailor he worked for? Windswept's argent would be on 'Jackson's', the MODs favourite until Marcus Price started selling suits.
Also great to hear him reminisce about Club AGoGo. What a joint that was - a real music venue and he was spot on about Thursday nights!
Back to the album, the track 'Avonmore' sounded good and I can't wait to hear his take on 'Send In The Clowns'. Roll on Novenber 17th.
Salutations,
W

Just listening to it, now I understand who Captain Bill is. What an amazing man. He even apologises for not saving everyone's life faster. :o

And I like Avonmore.

Good Late Night To Everyone Here at These Hallowed Cyber Halls Of Justice. The very faithful Veteran Roxyologists and Ferryistas! It's Lori I very much enjoyed the last 2 BBC radio Show Interviews! Being A Stateside Fan Who is among the neglected! As NONE of Our Radio Shows ever Interview A True Master Who is A Commander Of The British Empire and A esteemed New Doctor Of Music. NONE of Our T.V. Talk Shows EVER Have Him on hardly either. So It is in The Internet Age that I am most greateful for ANYTHING I can get. For if not for The Internet I and may other Stateside Fans would NEVER get any of this. I also love watching Bryan Ferry on BBC T.V. Interviews On You Tube of course. ( Again My never ending Thanks to The Internet. ) WOW! Bryan is such A well spoken and well mannered Man. Intelligent Articulate Well Read and Well Cultured Plus Well Educated. With A level of understanding about Music and His craft that went well beyond any Chronological Age He was ever at.I love the sound of His Speaking/Talking Voice. I wonder why it loses it's power when He sings?
Some Fans Here have said He is still capable of sing with some Power and passion and Intensity and Feelings He should try it. I suppose He does not want to blow what is left of His precious Vocal Chords. They are A Gift and His main Instrument. So He has to take A "Handle With Care approach. I really enjoy it when He discuses His Life in His Home-Town City of Newcastle What it was like and His Time in School.
Now what I really want to comment on Here is this: The Title Track?Song of His new Up-Coming Album/CD " Avonmore."
It just "Blows My Mind" as it were that A Man of His Age can still write such Lyrics of such Powerful Passion and Intensity. That are so Sexy and Sensuous and Sensual. Also downright Sultry.
There are 2 Lyrical Lines in " Avonmore" that got Me Excuse Me for typing this, but I got Hot and Bothered by this One. " I Lay My Head On Your Heart-Beat, Cloaked In The Daggers Of Your Soul. "
My Brain just stopped DEAD and D near exploded at the instant I heard this!
The Second One was This: " I am looking for A Love that is Never Ending. That Lasts through The Thunder And The Rain. " or something like that.
JAYSUS! Man if He ever performs this Live during the new Up-Coming Tour, He will "Put A Spell" as it were on All of the Women in The Audience for sure! They will be His.
I hope that this does not get Me thrown Out of Here. i just could not express My Feelings and Thoughts any other Way that may have been more acceptable Here. I am Sorry in advance.
He also does seem a bit of what We Americans refer to as a " Rebel Rouser" Although Not too much of A Wild One but You never know do You?
I am A 45 Year Old Woman Who has it Bad for Him. I want to " Take A Chance With Him" as it were. Can I get anyone Here to blame Me?
As i recall Helen Here has the same affliction!
If I have expressed My Feelings a bit too strongly Here, I will try to be much more subtle in the Future. All I ask is Please don't throw Me Out of the Sand-Box Here for being Bad.
I take My Membership Here as A Gift.
I will take much better care of it. I Promise!
I also will accept any and all forms of punishment that I may receive.
I know I will NEVER get to SEE/HEAR Him Live In Concert to experience His Legend In Person.
Love to all with sincerity, Lori.

I really like this Q&A:

Quote:
DOL: What's your motivation in writing?
BF: I've got to have a gun to my head.

None of them asked him about his alleged "writer`s block". -Could have been interesting. -Otherwise, great title track! -And remember, stay cool!

Good early Afternoon To all Fellow Roxyologists and Ferryistas! It's Lori. I have a few more comments to make in This Discussion Thread. What I meant by refering to Bryan Ferry as A bit of A "Rebel Rouser " was this His comment about having to keep BUSY to keep Him-Self Out of trouble! I thought " Oh, Man He still likes to stir Up The Pot and make Life interesting!" The other thing is that He told a slight Fib about His Bicycles. The REAL Truth was that His Mother, Polly MADE Him give Up His Bicycles because of School. She wanted Him to pay more attention to His Studies! Not give Them Up because of His Budding Music Career! His Mother, Polly took the Right approach His Education was the Top priority!
The other Thing was that He busted His Younger Son, Tara's Chops by saying that He only "Fiddles" around A bit with His band! I do stand to correct You, Bryan Tara does much more that just "Fiddle" around! He's. got much talent! Gee I wonder where that came from? Any Ideas? I also want to Add more to My comments about Bryan's Lyrics. One would expect that the above Lyrics I shared My Thoughts on would have been written by A Man Who was significantly Younger by A couple of Decades, not One Who is now a Senior Citizen. Shows that He is still full of surprises! My only wish is that I would get much more of a response Here in This Hallowed Cyber Hall Of Justice When I do post Here. Maybe it is just that No One has much to say to Me.
Oh, Well I will just keep on trying. I want to be A well received Member of this unique Family! Yes I too would have been very interested to have Bryan talk about His Writers Bloc of the 1990's Sure would have been something to hear about.
Shame he does not Cycle much anymore. It would be a great Way to keep in shape.
I do wish He would talk about His Sisters A little. Are They still living?
I only know the One Sister's Name Ann Who was the other One?
Bring it On November 17TH! I can't wait for This New Album/CD "Avonmore" I too am on Pins And Needles to listen too His rendition of Steven Sondheim's "Send In The Clowns" in it's entirety!
I am also waiting to hear and read any announcement of a New North American Tour for next Year in 2015! I do want to Go to SEE/HEAR Him!
I was just given a Bad Luck Of The Draw in being Born and Raised on the Wrong Continental Side of The Atlantic Ocean.
As We Stateside Fans get so little of Him.
Bryan Ferry should now be given Knight-Hood.
Love to all Lori!
