Although early period BF (i.e. up to & including TBSB in '78) includes most of my favourite stuff, I still find myself drawn back to some of the later singles which, in commercial terms, died on their arses...

The likes of Slave To Love & Don't Stop The Dance have been in too many set lists for my tastes, which may be why I like the "film soundtrack trilogy" of Dance With Life, Help Me & the unfairly maligned Is Your Love Strong Enough? so much more.

DWL & HM weren't even released as singles in the UK (Australia & Germany only (plus US promos) for the former and USA only for the latter, I think?) and IYLSE has had little airplay for decades. And I can't recall any of the three ever being played live; a missed opportunity with the orchestra in Dublin maybe?

This week I've been re-enjoying a cracking German CD single (although its generous playing time makes it more of an EP) which includes all these hidden gems. Track listing is: DWL (edit) [4'21]; DWL (full version) [6'15]; IYLSE (long version) [7'15]; HM [5'14].

It's not one of the easier BF singles to find at a decent price, but it's well worth seeking out (if anyone's frustrated in this endeavour, I found a spare copy in my collection; just message me if you think we could manage some sort of exchange...).

You're right, Smudge. 'Dance With Life' was such a brilliant song - I never understood why it wasn't a #1 hit single worldwide ... maybe because it was only published in Germany and Australia. Written by Martin Page ('In The House Of Stone And Light'), it was the only 'new' cover song BF recorded ... maybe he remembered having refused to sing 'Don't You'. I remember that DWL was a radio hit on 'Bayern 3' in 1996. BTW: I like IYLSE, too. Even if some of our fellow members here don't appreciate this song .

I'd really love to be able to agree that DWL is a great underrated masterpiece ....but I never got on with it (yet)
But...help me...marvellous. Love that track!!
