This has got to be one of the great live songs by ferry.Speeding is sublime. How did Manz take to playing second fiddle?

do the lack of replies mean

a. the topic of Spedding's solo has been covered previously?
b. People dont rate the live performance as much as I do?
c. There are in fact no other videos of the IYM tour?


Or none of the above and you are bored with the post?

As a new member I wouldn't expect too many replies, other than from the likes of myself.

To answer your questions PM was added at the last minute on this tour to play second guitar to CS, mainly because it was all a bit flabby at the start and held together by TGPT.

As I've said on this forum before Spedding was at his best on IYM and provided something much different in terms of guitar playing. IMHO BF needs another Sped NOW to make his recordings sound fresher.

There are plenty of videos on youtube of the IYM tour. Once the original problems had been sorted great band and great album too. Have a look at the album Hurt by Spedding too, recorded around this period.

You could add this option:-

d. Easter Holiday period here in the U.K., the forum has been quiet. :)

The TV Broadcast from Tokyo which has already been posted is more or less the only decent film of the 77 tour, audience filming was very rare back in those days. We are lucky to have that TV broadcast!

Here is a link to the only other piece of film from that tour I have seen over the years, I don't know if you may have seen it before. The video part kicks in around the halfway mark with only audio up to that point.

A really great track. The studio version is sublime...and the live versions sound interesting too. Always liked the lyrics too...and ann Odell's string arrangements.

I'm sure there was an Australian TV special from the IYM tour. I guess there might be licensing issues, but would be interesting to see clips from that.

This video of "Hard Rain" must be from the Australian TV show Alan. At first I thought it was the Tokyo one but it seems to be a different studio.
