Brighton has been and gone and almost 24 hours later not a word. Was it to your taste or God forbid were you disappointed? To me the set list is better than the earlier dates are our Maestro's health issues. Pray tell. Best wishes from Jerry

Ne vous inquietez pas. W2 has filed his report mais under Roxy's excellent "Avonmore Tour 2015" heading as he didn't want to appear to be suffering from threaditus.

He did meet the 24hr deadline but only just - he was delayed having fun in the city that permanently helps the police with their enquiries. The after party was long and there were many autographs to sign!

All said, this band is shaping up to be a real keeper - W2 loved them to bits and feels slightly sorry for our American brethren who obviously caught the former line-up when they were still under training.

If you have the energy, read the whole thing but suffice to say that this is a star studded cast and Jimmy Simms is my new bass hero!

Bete Noire was worth the ticket on its own - it moved Mrs.W and at this stage of the game, it's just pleasing that something can!

One thing that Windswept did omit from his original epistle was his view on the crowd's sartorial efforts. Frankly, the male contingent (excluding, of course, the haunters of this hallowed cyber hall) need to make one.

It's a broad church and all styles are served here but the emphasis is on style and looking like you've just fallen out of a Burton's window just doesn't cut it. What will become of the art of Roxology if we all finish up looking like junior bank managers?

Very pleased to hear that the good Mr W2 and Mrs W2 enjoyed the myriad delights of the British seaside and that the great man was on such fine form. It sounds as though the band has got better and better over the course of the last 12 months and is now a very fine accompaniment indeed to Washington's finest.

Roll on more in the spring. Next time is the best time, we all know.

Agreed. An absolute disgrace. An insult to the memory of Roxy fans of the past (always up for it), a shame on Brighton (usually stylish). Even Ms RS noted it to me. Far worse than Munich, where many made an effort.

As noted elsewhere on this forum recently, Severin and Siouxsie met at a Roxy gig (Siren, wembley), where Ms Ballion made a huge effort (as a mermaid no less, see http://www.untiedundone.com/070206a.html). I doubt there would be any sartorial inspirations triggered by the Burton X Gap X FatFace debacle of last week.

Dressing up used to be such a big part of the Roxy/Ferry thing. Despite the great music and performance, the dominant theme of the crowd's attire was mid grey "clashing" with slightly darker grey. Abysmal. Rant over.

I've been to 8 shows since May last year but saw no dress code at any. Was there one?

8 shows since May is truly Olympia and deserves the award of the dark blue charvet knitted tie - this is a blistering performance by anybody's standards!

W2 lui-même first saw our hero in 1967 and has still only managed to rack up either 25 or 26 shows (can't remember if he saw him twice in '72) - clearly further training required ? He envies you.

Regarding the dress code, yes there certainly is one, it's called Ferryesque concert chic and it stems from the fact that Roxology is inextricably linked to style.

W2 has no doubt that you are already a stalwart practitioner. Unfortunately and very unusually for Brighton, there seemed to be a dearth of participants at last week's show. Indeed, a significant portion of the audiance looked like they'd got lost on the way to a M&S Christmas party and had finished up at The Dome by mistake!

We have to keep our sartorial end up and remember "all styles served here."

Windswept himself is in the process of growing a Jimmy Sims beard in honour of his new bass hero.
