Anyone know who comes up with bass, keyboard guitars and drum arrangements. Surely Bryan doesn't write all of it himself ? I spoke with Alan Spenner years ago and he told me that he recorded 8 different bass lines for Avalon ! But I didn't as him who wrote them ! If the session musicians come up with their bits, do they get any royalties ? Just wondered .

I asked Guy Pratt a similar question in an interview I did with him in 2006.

Thanks for that John. I was just curious Especially when you hear great distinctive bass lines in Love is the Drug, Out of the Blue, Song for Europe, Mother of Pearl etc. John Gustafson should take a bow ! I remember reading an interview with John Wetton once. He said he loved playing in Roxy as he had loads of freedom and it felt like he was on Lead Bass !

Your interview with Guy Pratt is really interesting! It's great that it's available once again on VRM!

Saw Guy Pratt's one man show in London in the summer; I think it was a warm up for the Edinburgh Festival. Entertaining bloke!

Got him to autograph his book afterwards and he asked what had led me to buy it; when I mentioned having been a Roxy fan for over 35 years, he said "They sacked me!". He didn't say why, but it sounded like a wound which had yet to properly heal...
