Thanks for posting this Hopper picture, Teresa, it's a fantastic piece of art. When I look at the scene songs like '2 HB', 'In Every Dream Home', 'Strictly Confidential' or 'Beauty Queen' come to my mind ... Could have been a nice Roxy album cover - there is even a woman on it ![]() |

Like every other Edward Hopper aficionado, W2 has spent intoxicated nights in NYC trying to find the exact location of this masterpiece and yes, '2HB' was definitely playing in his head. Bizarrely, W2 has often wondered if the pre-title sequence for our hero's 'Le Grand Rex' DVD wasn't inspired by Hopper. Salutations, Windswept. |

Dearest WS2; Ooohhhh To have joined you on one of those excursions.... I was just reading this interesting bit at : http://www.popspotsnyc.com about the opinion that the location of Nighthawks was 70 Greenwich Avenue at 11th Street. At the link read the article titled Nighthawks: Edward Hopper. The main clue Hopper himself gave was that the location "Was at the place where two streets meet..." Taste Tarantulas All Have An Exquisite Eye ![]() |
