Hi Avondale;

Here is a really interesting article on the components of a song

http://study.com/academy/lesson/melody- ... mples.html

The Horoscope version sounds very different from the original, and yes I would say a different melody...

I never get tired of talking about RoxyFerrysongs..
I have yet to watch this Fascinating interview...

Thank you, Teresa

So if we agree that it is a different melody and melody is what distinguishes one tune from another then in effect we have 2 different songs here. I wonder why Bryan decided to apply his old lyrics to a new tune? I can't think of any other examples of a songwriter doing this. It is pretty innovative.

For the record, I prefer the Stranded MOP not least because it is much more melodic to my ears. That said, tHere is some interesting instrumentation going on in the Horoscope MOP that I really like.

Well Said Avondale,

I think you summed it up Perfectly;

It would be really interesting if Bryan did that to some of his other songs as well..

And Yes, I agree with you and Roxy about leaning toward his Original..

But oh
How Very Much I enjoyed this MMI..
Musical Memory Imprint

I was listening to the Horoscope Version

I was laughing to myself thinking about this again,
The lyrics to this Brilliant song..

And thinking...
Hopefully Bryan doesn't secretly think when people ask him about MOP lyrics..

Ahaha if they only knew...
They don't mean anything, I was pretty much
Ahahaha wasted when I wrote that song :lol: :lol:
