Thanks Roxy and EERO,

I love the original so much, it vies for top spot in my all-time Roxy songs, along with the original Casanova. Maybe because both sets of lyrics define early 70s hedonism, but also because the attendant music matches the lyrics so perfectly, so intelligently.

I first heard the original on a Friday early evening BBC radio show called Round Table, which previewed upcoming new singles and albums. I was in the bathroom taking the obligatory hour to get ready for my Friday night out. When this "new track from Stranded" was introduced I had just lathered up my 16 year old face with shaving foam 4 inches thick and turned my little moon-shaped radio up to err...11....and 6 minutes later was still standing in front of the mirror with the blade never touching my face, it was hypnotic!!

A real tour de force.

This remake is wonderful, very Mamounaesqe, and I think Bryan should be proud of managing to carry it off, it always gets my foot tapping and head nodding when I'm stuck on the sodding train!

It is soooooooo cool.

When I first heard it I was in the bathroom taking the obligatory hour to get ready for work, that is to say, face scrub, pre shave gel, shaving gel, specialist shampoo for grey hair, specialist conditioner for grey hair, and a boatload of vitamins.....

A very poignant and humorous post, Rendevous.

It throws up so many potential avenues to explore but really the crucial question has to be "does the specialist grey hair shampoo and conditioner make a difference and, if so, where do I get some?

....only on a Roxy forum !!!

Rendezvous & Avondale be thankful you still have the need to purchase special products for grey hair! ;)

Some male fans around our vintage are more Eno than Ferry. ;)

Avondale and the gorgeous Roxy,

I burst out laughing at your replies, thank you.

I forgot to add post-shave gel and moisturiser too!!!!

Where I grew up the street was called Evesham and around the corner was a street named Avondale. British battles i guess, but a nice coincidence....

You have both made my day :D

I have little to no hair on my head. Almost Eno. As for this it is a criminal insult to the original. If it had been on Mamouna as an original track it would have been instantly forgettable. Guess we are all different.

Of course we are Jerry, but i think it's criminally extraordinarily decent.

I feel another thread coming on.

Not eyebrow related. :D

Maybe it is due to my lack of musical sophistication but it sounds to me like the lyrics from MOP set to a different melody - or, as usual, am I missing something?
