And in the interest of democracy, this thread could be for anyone who is not so keen on Olympia after they have played it in full a few times.

It`s hopeless to deal with young people`s views and be in Ferry-land at the same time, IMO. "-an artist who has spent most of his career playing with notions of artifice". Well, that`s the trouble with Bryan, IMO. These are the views of people who hasn`t waited as long as we have.

Olympia gets 5 out of 10 stars:

Here`s a new one. Not far from slaughter. The first Scandinavian review gives Olympia 3 out of 6 stars:

You can discuss 'till eternity about what's good and what's bad - it's also a matter of taste. In Humo, a dutch magazine, Olympia get's a very good comment, only 'Song to the Siren' is quoted negatively, while a lot of fans seem to like this song the most... so...

Hello all !!!! I do understand how there be others that have reservations about Bryan's new release, I myself love the earlier Roxy releases and was anticipating actually a new Roxy album, But I have heard the Bryan Ferry album on the internet, I do like it, I had read that Rolling Stone had some very compliments !!! Regrettably where I live ( Topeka , Kansas- not very cultured ... in Kansas they still listen to the 80's hair bands and Lynard Skynard - spelled wrong purposely this has resulted in real disdainment for where I live , and a very rebellious Punk attitude soooo... ) the new release will not be heard here .... I have resulted to reading and watching on the internet, I wish that there was more marketing in the US. This is a release that should be Marketed... intensely. So Bryan if you do read these or have a staff keeping up the these sites... Marketing , marketing marketing ... E- news, a Rolling stone article, Us nightly talk shows, we need the excitement of anticipation here !!!

From Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant:

Bryan Ferry klinkt nog steeds druilerig
Bryan Ferry: Olympia. Virgin/Emi.

Keywords: drizzling, not urgent, no development, 2 out of 5...

Sadly to say, couldn't agree more...
