I would respectfully suggest:

21st Century Schizoid Man (for obvious reasons)

Night and Day (why not?)

Fame (Bowie/Lennon/Alomar)

Cindy Tells Me or Driving Me Backwards

Wooly Bully (because he's already done it live)

Good selection......on the Bowie front I can see our hero doing a great version of Wild Is The Windswept2

Hipsters,

I know we've visited this subject before but on the premise that you can't get too much of a good thing .....

W2's recommendation has been, is, and remains that our hero interprets Richard Thompson's brilliant 'For Shame Of Doing Wrong.'

Pourquoi? Windswept hears you shout down the cyber line.

Il y a plusieurs raisons.

D'abord, it drips with melancholy and could have been written by our hero:

''When I see lovers holding hands and sighing. I hang my head for shame of doing wrong."

"I'm sorry for the things I've said, the things I've done. I'm sorry for the restless thief I've been."

It doesn't get any more morose than this and perfect for a man reflecting on a full life.

Deuxiemement, there have been a number of good versions. But like a number of songs that our hero has interpreted, Windswept thinks the definitive version is yet to be made and The Bonny Lad is the man for the job.

Troisiemement, when W2 imagines le version Ferry, it includes a wailing harmonica solo that would just be the piece de resistance.

Finalmente, it is what Windswept wants so Studio One - lights, microphone, action s'il vous plait !

Salutations,

W2

Dear Windswept2, I do believe I was the one to make the suggestion of Thompson's For shame of Doing Wrong. The first time I heard it, (actually Sandy Denney's version) I thought of Mr Ferry remaking it as his own. The version Thompson recorded with his then wife is superb, but I think Denney's version more readily suggests a Ferry Treatment.

Another song of a similar vein is Chuck Prophets Misbegotten Love.

Cher EERO,

You certainly were and W2 didn't mean to steal your thunder by omitting the credit.

It was simply so long ago he'd forgotten.

That said, regardless of wether the Boy Wonder ever gets round to it, it is a great song and Windswept will forever be in your debt for drawing his attention to it.

W2 is also in violent agreement with you that thus far, Denney's version could form the template albeit there is copious amounts of room for sprinkling Ferry Dust.

IWNSHO the definitive version of 'For Shame Of Doing Wrong' ©EERO is yet to be made and it would be a great project for The Bonny Lad.

Salutations,

Windswept.

Cher, Windswept, you are a gracious gentleman.

I concur, the definitive version of the song awaits, like the Platonic Ideal. We can all imagine it, and it is perfect, but shall we ever hear it?
