Bryan said this in an interview before his show this evening in Mainz / Germany: In October a new album will be released with the songs I recorded for "Babylon Berlin". It was a fascinating project to imagine how my songs could have sounded in the Berlin of 1929. |

Have to confess to feeling my stomach drop upon reading this...Ferry's fourth jazz album in 19 years! During which time he's released three original albums (or should I say part original & even the original material was mostly already available on bootlegs prior to his Jazz phase!). For years Ferry was accused (unfairly IMHO) of constantly attempting to remake Avalon, now the charge has justly shifted to constant attempts to remake As Time Goes By. My main fear is that this is going to drag the jazz phase on even longer, which raises further concerns over whether we are likely to hear anything original from him ever again. |

Could it be that the release coincides with the start of Babylon Berlin in German free TV ... ? @pianoman: Successful series "Babylon Berlin" will take place on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at 8.15 pm in the first (ARD). Shown are the same three episodes. Then the slot changes and the ARD shows the Sky hit on Thursdays in a triple pack, before then double sequences are broadcast. I think it's the same situation as 2012: he released the Jazz Age Album and worked in the background on another new album (Avonmore). Maybe we see us in Regensburg. I also hope that the weather will be good. |

These tracks with The BFO already feature on the Babylon Berlin OST so I imagine they will be joined by some other reworkings for this new album mentioned.....hopefully all with vocals.  Dance Away Reason or Rhyme Bitters End Alphaville Chance Meeting Bittersweet
