Friends, colleagues, Ferryistas,

I saw this video and felt compelled to draw attention to it...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJzQlyFzl1A

Look at the energy running through our hero during this fine rendition of Tom Thumb's Blues. Like Windswept and others, I too have found the last couple (maybe more) of tours somewhat languid affairs - Mr F seemingly going through the motions during this, the Sunset of his career.

But not this tour. Having seen the 'stars align' at the RAH, and having watched effervescent contributions like that above, one can't help but notice a significant difference.. a re-energising of our leader. A return to top form. A definite joie de vivre.

Got me wondering why... any ideas?

A final farewell, perhaps? One hopes not, but could explain the new lease of life..

One to ponder!

Happy holidays to all,
GazRox

I could see it. I watched the two first minutes. I know my ponderings are worthless. This could be a whim that could happened to everyone. I could see that Jorja was aware of an added energy. It could be the result of seeing a window of creativity connected to a project that so far is only up his sleeve.

From the videos I have seen, he certainly seems to have more energy and is enjoying performing more. It could be many things - chemistry of the current band, recognition from RRHOF or being in a happy place in his private life. One suspicion I have though, is that he is more happy with his voice as, although clearly not the tour-de-force it once was, it does seem to be recovering somewhat. I remember about the time of the first Jazz Age album and The Great Gatsby thinking it was barely listenable (the recording of Back to Black and some of the live sessions at the time are really thin and raspy) but the vocal cuts on Bitter Sweet and the current concert performance seem much better.

Hipsters,

GazRox poses a very interesting question.

Our hero is certainly energised.

It would be easy to attribute it to the standard of the band - they are excellent - but frankly, he’s never had a bad line up and do the current troubadours serve his work better than his 2013 musicians ?

Could we attribute it to the set list ? Mais .....comme nous savons pas
beaucoup de changements!

C’est peut-etre sa vie privee ? Certainly our hero has, like the rest of us, had his ups and downs and he is a self confessed melancholic but he is much loved and W2 certainly hopes he is a happy bunny!

Could this be the last time but we don’t know ? Mais no, the Geordie work ethic reigns supreme and while he has wind in his sails his ship will cruise along.

So, what is it ?

Well W2 has the full explanation - it’s the new suit ! Since he ditched the Humperdinck rig and swathed himself in A&S, he’s regained his sartorial mojo and is back en plein for me as the Cary Grant of rock. Never underestimate the importance of a good suit !

Salutations,

Windswept.

Chers amis!

I don't want to put my nose into BF;s private life, but the way he look during this summer can only be explained in the following way; there is a new woman in his life. From that comes joy and inspiration, we all know that!
Nice to see that Bête Noir is back on the set list. What a masterpiece it is and it goes so well live with Marina Moore.

Leaving aside BF's private life, Oberon, Bête Noire has seldom, if ever, been absent from the setlist since 2015 (nearly four and a half years)! ;)

Hipsters,

Opinions of learned Roxologists will vary.

The great Oberon and lady Teresa favour an affair of the heart.

Windswept remains resolute that only a sartorial reboot or a chemical substance can restore this level of vigour.

Given that like the rest of us, our hero has doubtless turned his back on the latter as we are all now reborn health nuts - this only leaves the suit !

Now a new suit may beget an affair of the heart but that’s another story.

Meanwhile we can all Ferry on in fine style - W2 is considering a new suit.

Salutations,

Windswept
