Someone posted in other thread that it was doing well in USA. Whats the latest?.

Its first week on the USA Billboard charts it was #71. This week it is #146. I believe that the next week's rankings will be posted this Friday (or sometime before the weekend).

On the Billboard "Rock Album" chart it debuted at #19 and then dropped to #40. On the "Alternative Album" chart it debuted at #11 and then dropped to #25.

Although Olympia is certainly not Taking America by Storm! it has generated some interest and airplay. How this has translated into sales is an interesting question - I think last week someone posted Soundscan data indicating that Olympia had sold/scanned 6,000 units in the US but I'm not sure whether or not that included Amazon sales/downloads or ITune downloads.

My guesstimate is that Olympia might sell 20,000 or so albums in North America. Maybe even more (or maybe less). But it is NOT in the big retailers like Wal-mart and Target and has no hope of finding a broad base audience IMHO.

In the latest USA Billboard 200 Album Chart Olympia is not listed. A bunch of Christmas albums have been released in the last week and they have taken up a lot of space in the top 200 rankings. I think it highly doubtful that Olympia will ever reenter the USA Top 200 chart. So it goes...
