Whilst I have the originals , I wonder where this going. Will every album be re-released? Its the re-mastering that is the hook. The albums still look great and I also wonder whether the two gatefolds will be reproduced. My guess is that they will.

Good news for the vinyl freaks within our forum. A little bit off topic but does anybody know how Bryan Ferry is coping with this pandemic and what he is doing these days? I know that a man of his age has earned to be a retired artist but I can't imagine our hero only sitting in his garden drinking tea (or champagne) ... !? One answer would be absolutely satisfying: Bryan is well and planning to release an album and/or will soon announce a few concerts 8-).

I wonder what "enhanced artwork overseen by Bryan Ferry " means.
The original artwork cannot really be tampered with.

On the social media ads for these records , there are a few tantalising, previously unseen, contemporaneous pictures of Ferry… in tuxedo, etc.
I don’t know whether they will make it to the releases’ artwork.
What this campaign will do , I think, is raise Ferry’s profile amongst younger generations.
Idol, innovator, crooner, … take your pick.

It seems to be only me obsessing over this release - I have all but one one on vinyl, foolishly discarding my Atlantic copy of Lets Stick Together when I got it on CD.

I will buy 1 or more of the 2021 re-masters , but which ones ?

Or crowd fund for the bundle ?

I just can't get excited by these releases and I'm otherwise quite a 'completist'. Some slightly different artwork is all that's effectively on offer given these have already been remastered for CD release - I doubt my ageing ears would perceive much difference this time around. I'd have been more interested if these had been deluxe box sets, but that seems highly unlikely. If the Roxy SDE track record is anything to go by, the modus operandi seems to be wait until every original fan is dead before seeking to maximise the commercial potential!

My inner completist forced me to order them, even though I have the originals! ;) I suspect there will be only subtle changes in the artwork quality, which is a pity, as there was an opportunity to do so much more...

Apparently the decision was driven by the record company, otherwise we might have got coloured vinyl or gatefold sleeves (only ATAP & TBSB had these when first released) or alternative artwork...

Or, if standard black vinyl it has to be, how about each as 45rpm double LP Abbey Road remasters (like the Eno reissues)? Or stick with 33rpm, but add a bonus disc of out-takes or alternative versions, even if the bonus disc was only 12" single or EP duration?

Part of the reason for my order was the hope that the record company might follow up with the reissue of the next six non compilation LPs (i.e. Bête Noire to Dylanesque), as some of these were originally pressed in very limited numbers and sometimes sell for quite eye watering prices in used condition. Time will tell...

This all seems a rather familiar. Wasn't there a big deal about vinyl versions of "flat masters" (or something like that...) of Roxy albums a few years back?

To me this all seems like little more than the latest iteration of churning the catalogue (Yet Again, One More Time!). No harm is being done, but the songs remain the same, regardless of the latest "mix"...

I’ve pulled out the 1999 remasters today and played them as therapy.
It’s been helpful. The songs are the same. The CD artwork is fine. I’m gonna be ok.
