-Hmm, "The Way You Do"..., written by Bryan Ferry, sung by Abba-Frida, and from her album in 1982. I know it has been discussed before. Does this song stir any opinion today?

Sounds like a Kiki Dee b side from 1976 - I also hear a hollowed out Just another high … but overall i can imagine the scat vocal going doobee doobee doooo …

The lyrics do sound of their time and therefore not a million miles removed from the style of those to be found on 'Avalon'. As such, in the hands of the band, Rhett Davies and Bob Clearmountain, who knows how this might have ended up sounding? Add it to the huge pile of 'what ifs'! :)

I bought the album on release due to this Ferry original being included. To call it "nice" would be a good description.
As I remember its closest Roxy relative would have been Just Like You. However, it didn't have Manzanera or MacKay to sprinkle their magic on it. Shame.
