And thanks for 'all the rest' - everything you composed, arranged or sang, where you played the piano and so on. Happy Birthday, Bryan Ferry - I am looking forward to the retrospective set and many more songs to come 8-) .

Everybody loves "I Thought". Do you get it? Do you understand the fuzz about it? I would like to know.

-Just a little question when speaking about it...

Some of my initial thoughts about "I Thought" ...

It’s both playful and melancholic, spiraling outward gaining more and more momentum and intensity with each verse. The surf guitar solo echoes the vibe of 'For Your Pleasure,' while carrying the epic simplicity of Eno’s synth break in ‘Virginia Plain’. The chorus teeters on the edge of a sea shanty, with two voices supportive, harmonizing/ reconciling in a way that feels both heartfelt and joyous. Fairground electronic sounds swell into a cacophony - like a fleet of sonic ice cream vans from an alternate universe… shifting the genre into John Ford territory…. The two silhouettes, side by side, fade into the golden hour.. disappearing through the sunset….. And beneath it all …the pulse of the camp bontempi organ … evidence of an ‘attitude’… the smile and wink of a shared sense of humour.

Mes Amis,
What a great appreciation by Le Jardinier.
W2 has always loved this song. It has real emotional resonance and heft.
Furthermore the Frantic tour was fabulous. What a great set list and band (Mick Green (RIP) and Chris Spedding were the best guitar duo ever).
Writing this W2 is playing the album.
Bravo a le jardinier et salutations a tous.
Windswept
