Hmm, still got my original vinyl copies. As for Olympia I thought I should support a local record shop that just had popped up around 2010 and bought it by them. However, there was a thin stripe across the whole of side 2 that looked like a piece of long hair that gave a low but annoying enough sound at each turn. I didn´t discover it before after a long, long time, which made me at bit uncertain about how and when. That record shop was gone after just about a year.

Wow! Looking forward to the ATGB vinyl - I was only 16 when this came out and only bought it on CD at that time as never really done vinyl. Now 3000+ vinyls later I can’t wait to hear what this sounds like on vinyl!
I do have Olympia on vinyl which I bought signed at one of the Roxy Music gigs in 2010 but I’ll still buy this vinyl.
Now what we need is Frantic and Dylanesque to receive the vinyl treatment.

Scott - you're a veritable young whippersnapper, but clearly one with impeccable taste. Successful too, as you must have an entire wing of your home to accommodate all that vinyl! :D
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on both of these, but in particular the ATGB release. The late 20th century saw me become something of a vinyl philistine. Whilst I had all my old vinyl, I was entirely focused on CDs as far as new releases were concerned, a folly I came to see through a little later, but not before ATGB on vinyl had become something of a rarity and a collectors' item. It's such a magnificent piece of work - I'll be delighted to have it on 'honey gold' vinyl, although a SDE would be even better!

I'm sure you're right about 'Frantic' and 'Dylanesque' - vinyl re-releases seem to be in the vanguard at the moment.

CDs also available. Coloured, revised artwork, bonus tracks on Olympia (though merely the two bonus tracks available on certain formats originally).

I had hoped that As Tine Goes By could have been a 3 disc deluxe with Disc 2 with all the leftover sings from those sessions and disc 3 the Live In Paris footage.

Now that really would've been something, John. I don't suppose this release precludes the possibility in the future, but when?
I'm thinking of being cryogenically frozen imminently, with instructions to defrost me in the year 2225. I estimate BF's great, great, great, great, grandchildren will have the FYP SDE, 'Avalon' 'big box' and a 3 disc, 225th anniversary edition of ATGB good to go, keeping the BF legacy alive and well! ;)

Would that there be some consistency to these re-issues.

We had the 2021 first six albums re-mastery ( yes, that long ago), the re-vamped Taxi ( yellow vinyl and new artwork ) , the re-mastered Mamouna/Horsocope issue , Retrospective , of course , and now these 2 gems, neither of which I have on vinyl.

Do I want them? Of course ,I do. Do I want them honey gold and red? Not sure about that.

Is there a plan , I wonder, for Frantic and Dylanesque re- issues, (though I must proffer that I have these 2).?

This upcoming issue is not chronologically structured though I get that there will be a demand- they won’t sound any different to the CDs , though it is good to note that this format is still part of the plan.

And of course Loose Talk 2.O is in the works for this year.
Sadly, my much hoped for Ferry blues and soul album is not going to happen.
Love Letters was fine, but a tad monotone for me. An RSD release may have helped me to appreciate it more.

In all of this, my old friend, Bete Noire , appears to have been exiled to the outer , windswept , reaches of Siberia., ( pun intended) well ok, The Right Stuff did get a look-in.

Wholly agree - it does seem haphazard, the very antithesis of the perfection BF is renowned for. Other artists do indeed have consistency, and release remastered/SE/SDEs both chronologically and to a specific standard/format. And some of this wouldn't be exactly labour/cost intensive - much of the material that would make the terrific ATGB SDE that J.O'B cited, already exists. It just needs bringing together and the unreleased tracks 'polished up' (if indeed they even need it). But then, I'm being very generous there with other people's time and money.

Totally agree about a 'Love Letters' RSD release. After some fairly good and consistent support for this event, it's disappointing that we have another year with no BF/RM content. Come on boys - how about something - even a LL 'mini album' - to support record shops as part of this year's National Album Day?

Cher J.O’B
Windswept has been lobbying for such a project but surely it should include the soundtrack from Paris and a remastered DVD ?
Il faut aller vite !
Salutations,
