I was thinking: We have all been complaining about the fact that it takes ages for Ferry to finalize an album. Around 8 years per album during the last couple of decades, if I don´t count the cover albums.

What if he should have waited even longer??? Would the result have been better if he had just released one album during the last 10 years?

I enjoyed myself with trying to compile just one album of his last three + extras. And I believe that it´s a really strong collection, maybe a bit low in tempo. Best of all is that I´ve excluded Goin´down, One way love and especially Heartache by number.

Here´s my Bryan Ferry 2000-2010 compilation:
Shameless
Gates of Eden
A Fool For Love (Mercedes version)
Reason Or Rhyme
The Cruel Ship´s Captain
Hiroshima
You Can Dance
BF BASS (Ode To Olympia)
Me Oh My
The Only Face (Jools Holland version)
San Simeon
Positively 4th Street
Tender Is The Night
I Thought
Lowlands Low

The order can of course be debated. But, what do you think???

Yours truly!
/Peter I

Ps
I guess some of you wants to exclude BF Bass, but I think it fun and it´s needed on the compilation.

I'd include "Song To The Siren" as a must have. The rest I'd need to think over.

Likewise for me. Bryan's more recent solo stuff has been so so in my view with the exception of Dylanesque and to a certain extent Frantic. Olympia was a major disappointment to me, especially as some of it could have been a new Roxy album. Readers of my posts will know I am firmly in the pre 1980 camp for both Roxy and Bryan's solo stuff. Still bought it all though. Still like it, just don't love it.

There willl never be another Roxy album. We need to forget about that and view any new release on its own merits. Bryan's struggling to write any new stuff. Remember, he's only released 3 self-penned albums since 1987. 3 in almost 25 years ! So let Roxy RIP.
