Thoughts now turn to the BF gigs planned for the spring and summer and, as with the recent Roxy gigs, we'll all have favourite tracks from the dim & distant past which we'd love to hear performed live.

I've concentrated on the first handful of albums, but here's my personal wish list:

TFT - Sympathy For The Devil & The Tracks Of My Tears;
ATAP - It Ain't Me Babe & title track;
LST - Shame, Shame, Shame & The Price Of Love & Heart On My
Sleeve;
IYM - All Night Operator, Party Doll & title track;
TBSB - The Same Old Blues, Take Me To The River & What Goes
On.

While the rest of you (hopefully) turn this into a heated debate, I'll hope that someone with the initials J.O'B might drop some hints in the right ears! ;)

I think Another Time /Another Place would be a killer live. But, I'm sure we will get 5 from Olympia plus Slave to Love, Let's Stick together, Jealous Guy and Love is the Drug ! He seems to like Don't Stop the Dance and My Only Love, so add them to the list. What will the remaining 5 or more songs be ? Will he be as adventurous as on the Roxy Tour ?

I would say these "picnic" concerts are usually a Greatest Hits affair. So expect all the usuals to be trotted out. I suppose after this experimental Roxy setlist it will satisy the casual listener. :roll:

Heres my guesses:
Virginia Plain
Do The Strand
Out Of The Blue
Love Is The Drug
Dance Away
Jealous Guy
Avalon
Smoke Get's In Your Eyes
Let's Stick Together
The Price Of Love
Tokyo Joe
Can't Let Go
Slave To Love
Don't Stop The Dance
Limbo
The Only Face
Make You Feel My Love
You Can Dance
Song To The Siren
BF Bass

It would be great to see Bryan perform songs from "Olympia " as well as some songs he has not performed much !!! As far as a set list I would like to see .... hmmmm
1) "Sensation"
2) "You Can Dance"
3) "San Simeon
4) "Kiss and Tell"
5) "The Right Stuff "
6) "Hiroshima"
7) "Me Oh My"
8) "Don't Want To Know"
9) "You Go to My Head"
10) "What Goes On"
11) "Love Me Madly Again"
12) "Song to the Siren"
13) "The Name of the Game"
14) "Reason or Rhyme"
15) "Shameless"
16) "Goddess of Love"
17) "Can't Let Go"
18) " Is your Love Strong Enough"
19) "Your Painted Smile"
to name a few... It would be great to his new guitarist tackle this , for which I think he could do a great job, but even add to the songs !!!

These Foolish Things / Walk A Mile In My Shoes / It Ain’t Me Babe / Another Time, Another Place / Let’s Stick Together / Love Me Madly Again / When She Walks In The Room / Carrickfergus / Slave To Love / Valentine / The Right Stuff / Will You Love Me Tomorrow / Which Way To Turn / Chain Reaction / Where Or When / San Simeon / I Thought / Gates Of Eden / You Can Dance / Alphaville / Heartache By Numbers / Me Oh My / Song To The Siren / BF Bass (Ode To Olympia) / Reason Or Rhyme

(I’m a bit of an omnivore, many other songs I’d love to hear as well)

I would like to hear This is Tomorrow, Sign of the Times, Hard Rain, In Your Mind, Another Time Another Place stuff like that. As it will be a BF gig no need for LITD etc. We've all just seen them anyway. Stick to his solo back catalogue. There are many gems from his first 3 or 4 solo albums. Sadly not so many from his more "recent" offerings. I guess I'm and old geezer stuck in the 70's which is probably why i enjoyed the Roxy shows so much. Anyone else like me????

I think that there are a lot of us out there who feel the same way Jerry. Having said that, I am not sure if your description of the first 3 or 4 albums extends to The Bride Stripped Bare - surely it must ?

Here's a question for you (or anybody else with the same leanings towards the early output) i.e. if the early RM/BF stuff had never happened, and your first experience of BF was Olympia, then would you have liked it enough to buy it?

Indeed I include The Bride Stripped Bare. I think it was the 4th official solo album by Bryan, Lets Stick together was a compilation. Oddly enough I was playing Olympia in the car today and I am struggling to like it. If it had been the new Roxy album I would have been gutted. Amazingly a guy I work with who is not a real fan thinks it is brilliant!!
If this was the first offering I ever heard I doubt if I'd become a fan. Luckily i was around to see Virginia plain on TOTP in 72 and I was hooked. Guess you were the same Avondale. From anywhere near East Kilbride?

Jerry, you and I go back a long way, even longer than TOTP in 1972. Will send you a PM
