Hipsters,
Does anybody know the late Doctor's story?
I've read his sleeve notes and numerous credits but information on this and other sites is scant - what role did he play in the formation of Roxy and in BF's solo career and what became of him?
Regards,
Windswept

He's also featured heavily in Michael Bracewell's book Re-make/Re-model

Thanks but not a lot in either of these epistles.
Who was he?
Were and when was he born?
When & were did he meet the band?
Did he have a strong influence over the music?
Why no obituary?
Did he write a biography of Ferry under a pseudonym?
A friend of mine met him a couple of times at EMI and said he was a great guy, a bit of a hedonist but with a huge sense of humour and was really the power behind the throne.
Anybody know anything?
Regards,
Windswept.

I think he did under the pseudonym Rex Balfour.

Oh yeah he did - read that one, thought it was the most informative on the personal stuff about BF.

He held Puxley in high esteem apparently and was devastated when he passed away.

Major influence on ferry's lyric writing. Some say he edited, influenced, even co wrote...and that pearl had his influence all over it.

Very interesting - thanks for this.
Evidently he was a huge influence and a lot of fun.
Shame we don't know more about him - can anybody out there elaborate?
Regards,
Windswept.
