Merry Christmas all! Just found this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNa4X61tKKs Quote: "Back in 1980 Bryan & the guys released a 45 in the UK under the disguised name THE DUMBELLS! The songs both (basically) instrumentals, where this song "Christmas Dream" and "Giddy Up" which is the Christmas song "Sleighride" with a touch of "Auld Lang Syne " thrown in! J.O'B will doubtless provide a definitive response, Erland, but my recollection is that Phil & Andy were involved in this (former Roxy bassist John Wetton too), but not BF. There is or was a reference to it (via the Expression Records shop link) at www.manzanera.com, implying that much of the Christmas spirit involved had been drunk prior to the recording! |

Thanks for the info Smudge. At the end, it did sound like the laughs were the result of some kind of spirit indeed! Sounded familiar to me, like whiskey. |

According to a question that was answered in Q magazine, a few years ago, it was indeed Phil, John Wetton and BF that were involved in the recording/larking about circa 1980. Anymore than that seems to be unknown. |

And the laughing is Phil and Eno from the session during "Primitive Guitars." The laughing is just before Impossible Guitar begins... |
