Not much doing me think's, so, when Bry is not at the forefront, and we've all played out the re-mix of the re-masters, what else do we all listen to, to see us through these uncertain times?
Nice to find out! (by April)
Here's one I would recommend, if you like a bass line.

When I worked for Glasgow City Council, 79-84, we used to frequent a great hostelry called "Sylvester's, The Pub" Ingram Street, in Glasgow. In those day's we were paid four weekly. We were all Kings (and Queen's) for a day. A Friday night on payday, was always a huge party. One night in particular, a track came on from the deck's. Loving music, apparently the way I do, I asked the guy the name of the track. "Roberta Flack" he told me, no more. I searched that track for years but couldn't find it. 20 year's or so later, I met a girl who was there that night (and morning). After mostly trivial conversation, I asked if she knew the song, and she identified the track as being "Don't Make Me Wait Too Long" by Roberta Flack, and Donny Hathaway, written by Stevie Wonder.
I found it on you tube 2 months ago. It is worth a listen Got to be the 7.50 version. It's not ambient, by any means. Headphones at full tilt, with bass and treble full on.

Sorry for waffling! Nice to know what else is floating you boat.

Happy New Year! xx

I have picked up a few things lately that are taking up a lot of my listening time just now i.e.

1. Anna Calvi's album (I have been following through on some of the recommendations posted on this forum and am enjoying a lot of them. I think this one was recommended by Windswept. Cheers for this!)

2. Deep Purple - Made in Japan. This takes me right back and (with due respect to Viva, which I think is great) it must be the greatest live album ever.

3. Be Bop Deluxe anthology. I never quite got into them at the time and have long had a sneaking feeling that I had missed out on something good. My instinct was right! The last time I heard anything about Bill Nelson was when he was supposedly playing with Chas & Dave. I hope that I am imagining this because that would be a real shame.

4. PJ Harvey's latest. An obvious one but worthy of all the plaudits it has received.

5. Miles Davis - Bitches Brew. The older I get the more I find that I enjoy stuff like this

Saw Be Bop Deluxe at the legendary Glasgow Apollo in 1976. Great gig. Maid in Heaven is a classic

The last "new" cd I bought was, funnily enough, Be-Bop Deluxe's "Futurist Manifesto 1972 – 1978", a 5 disc collection which is all their studio albums plus some b-sides, live stuff, etc.

An excellent band, I saw them 3 times at the Glasgow Apollo, 76-78, unfortunately Bill Nelson tried to jump on the crap new wave band wagon, which was punishing the nation at the time with inferior garbage, and broke the band up.

He then though of himself as a bit of an Eno and released loads of, to be honest, pretty shitey, ambient/weird albums. What a waste.

As for listening to at the moment, Zappa, The Tubes, SAHB...I don't really listen to anyone that was formed post '82....I know, stuck in the 70's/early 80's...but it has all been shite since, hasn't it?
